Default Draft Thoughts?

Sounds like Curry is high on the Knicks list. I don't know about that one. On the one hand, a pure shooter like Curry could absolutely light up the score board in this offense.

On the other hand, he's small for a 2 and not enough of a floor general to be 1, no particularly tough or good defensively either.

In most other systems, despite his college numbers, I'd label him as a 6th man type at best just because I think he's going to get abused by more physical guards.

However, I still would say he's a better bet than going with another tweener like Jordan Hill.

There's also some rumors that the Rubio kid will only play in a major market and will demand a trade to NY or LA because he knows he can more the recoupe the money he's going to have to give up to buyout his contract (he'll have to pay his team 7+ million to come play over here) in those markets.

I think curry would be a good fit in this offense, but I think he'd be very similar to what nate does, but able to shoot a little better. Steven Curry becomes that much more attractive when they are able to draw a big star in '10 since they can kick out to him.

Should be interesting as I think they need to hit a homerun on this one. This person will hopefully become the third scoring option after walsh gets done next season.

Curry looks like the next Chris Jackson AKA Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf. Pass.

I'd like for to see the Knicks have some luck on their side and be able to move up a few spots.

I'm with BS, go get Rubio, but I certainly would not cry if they got Curry instead. Don't think they go wrong either way.

PG added to rest of squad and eventual FA in 2010 would be SWEET !!!.. Rubio got to be pick..a nd if the major market stuff is true..I actually COULD SEE a trade being accomplished..

Well obviously Griffin would be my first choice if the Knicks got insanely lucky....then probably Rubio....I think Thabeet would be a monster in this system. Get up and down the floor, block shots, and easy dunks on pick n' roll.

But reality says none of that is going to happen.

I know a lot of people are looking for a PG, but unless you're a big fan of Jennings I dont see one (a true one) that makes a lot of sense to pick where the Knicks are projected. There are a lot more SGs setup for that area....just picking the one that actually will make it is tough....

and what is wrong with that? There were 4 years were he averaged between 17 and 19 points per game. He was a pretty decent player. I don't think outside of the top 2 picks you will find a franchise player.

Too one dimensional, too soft defensively.

Curry has a much better shot than Jackson does IMO, but you could be right in terms of him not being a true point guard and being too weak/soft for the position

The lottery would have been fixed if Oklahoma City won it so they could keep Griffin in state.

Its so amazing how the WORST TEAM(S) do not win lottery anymore..Kings have some talent and could have been decent with Martin/Griffin combo..Clips have next to no talent and could use an infusion of life in franchise..Knicks..well never believed they would have a shot a moving up..so..8th best player?? now what??

I hate the lottery process at this point.... they ruined it when they overreacted to Orlando winning it two years in a row. It's never been as fun since...

Out of curiosity..since I don't follow the college game that much..why is there little talk of Lawson for Knicks? Pg is a big need for this team NO? The sg FA class for 2010 will be abundant with some stars..Lawson was big key for NC from what little I saw..what are the "negatives" to him at the pro level..? would he not be a better defender then Curry...even if he is not as good of a shooter..if he can pass the rock and defend..leave the scoring to other guys..
