| I actually like the darko deal. I think he will be a serviceable big in this system. They do need a point though and bad. I would love love for them to get rubio. If his passing is as good as advertised, the sky is the limit for him in this system.

| Senior Member | I'm actually banking on Rubio doing just that 86. You can already tell he has 0 interest in playing in Minn and he knows he's not going to get a contract/endorsements from them to be worth paying that 6 mil buyout he needs..... Being the 5th pick means his salary is pretty much locked in below that cost so the only way he's going to make it up is through outside endorsements -- to me, that means NY, LA, Chicago type places -- Chicago and LA have no interest (SAC was for a while, but they passed on him in the draft and got Evans). and honestly lets think about it for a minute -- if Minn really wanted to keep Rubio why not draft Flynn first so that Rubio lines up to 6th slot money rather than 5th? This whole "we'll play both" is purely a smoke screen. Rubio is the taller of the 2, but has virtually no shot -- he plays the game more like Kid and his style is a direct clash with Flynn. Both need the ball in their hands to be effective too. I mean absolute dream scenario would be Nate for Rubio so they could save Lee for another sign and trade deal, but I doubt the asking price gets that low. Lee seems to make sense for Minn as his game doesnt conflict with Al Jefferson.... Chandler might as well as he's clearly better than the guys they have at the 3 now. Obviously a sign and trade with Lee would be better, but I wouldnt be too upset giving up Chandler for hopefully a franchise PG. Quote:
He's already used to playing major minutes and his motor is non-stop. He doesnt take bad shots (damn near 60% shooter for his career), can finish on the break, nice little jumper, and has made HUGE strides in just a few years because he loves the game. Like I posted elsewhere at his worst he's probably David Lee with some shotblocking (12ppg /10 rb double double machine)....at his high end he could be Amare Stoudemire....and somewhere in between is probably something like Kenyon Martin. To me anyways this talk about Channing Fyre is misplaced. First Fyre never put up an 18/11 season like Hill just did....secondly Frye put up 12 points and 6 boards in 20 minutes before he blew out his knee. You translate that into starting minutes and its 18/10. Fyre was never the same after that injury, but he played pretty damn good ball off the bench as a rookie His game fits in the mix with pretty much any of the top 2010 FAs -- Bosh, Nash, Wade, Lebron, etc. So would Curry or Flynn been better? Yeah I can't say they wouldn't have been given I've been pushing for them the most, but specifically in this system Hill has a chance to really shine. | |

| Senior Member | That's probably a good comparison....I didn't like Lawson either. Nor did I ever really understand the love affair with Holliday/Evans. Jenning is a guy who I figured peaked out around TJ Ford. Not saying that those guys are bad players, but 1) they arent the floor general this team needs and 2) they really arent much different than the pre-allstar break Duhon |

| If Hill can provide a defensive presence inside, that's good enough for me. He sounds like a big, strong, banger in the paint. I can live with that considering this was a really weak draft, Thabeet going #2 showed just how weak it was. He's going to get beat up badly in the NBA. |

| I don't think they would do both of them for basically just rubio. I would hope not anyway.

| "BOTH" F-THAT INDEED..they can ASK..but NO WAY Walsh does that...this isn't Zeke.... Hat NAILED EXACTLY what I was thinking..(as usual).. PERFECT UNIVERSE- GOD FINALLY SHINNING ON KNICKS= N8 for Rubio...whom they could use at #2 with Flynn...would be a hard to Keep up with up and down the court with Flynn..but that would make them a "tiny" back court so not likely.. WORST SCENARIO...- Chandler for Rubio..they get a young #2/3 who can grow with Flynn and player under control (cheap).. Compromise= Lee.... But I actually think despite Lee's ability..the "least" appealing... 1. because of what Lee may get $$ and #2 they do have Jefferson and don't forget LOve who played well for them when Al went down..so Al can Play #4 and Love #5.... they can do with out Lee IMO.. and USe CHandler more at either # or #3 with Gomes off the Bench... I think they will DEMAND Chandler in the end...and I will grit my teeth a bit..BUT DO IT...easier to find SWING man in draft/FA then STUD ALLSTAR PG.. I really have a good feeling this may happen...my only other concern was Chandler did just have surgery..so hope he is healthy ..a team may shy away..

| Smoke is starting to SIMMER.... Found this from a SPANIARD Newspaper.. After Ricky Rubio skipped his introductory press conference with the Wolves, Marca.com says that discussions on a possible trade to send Rubio to the Knicks are under way. The report cites sign-and-trades of David Lee and Nate Robinson although such a deal could not be consummated until after the July moratorium is lifted. Marca.com says it can confirm these negotiations to send Rubio to New York but there is no way to independently verify the report. Marc Berman reports on the situation in his New York Post blog. "The Knicks privately believe Rubio wants to be in New York and his agent Dan Fegan will work hard to make that happen," writes Berman. "The Knicks have intricate knowledge of Rubio's buyout contract; their European scout, Kevin Wilson, lives in Barcelona and is friends of the family." Berman also says that the Knicks "believe" that Rubio's contract buyout, currently standing at $6.5 million, "can easily be worked out." According to Berman's source, Rubio's camp "is hopeful the Knicks move in and strike a deal with the T'wolves." -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Same article... now the tranlation is rough..but the MESSAGE is clear... According to sources close to the player and to the NBA, Minnesota already knew that Ricky would not play there when chose it. The fact of to have fallen to the number five authorized to the Wolves to choose a player with a great value in the market, with the one that to do a 'sign and trade' (to sign and to transfer) with another team for obtain a veteran player. With this option, the Catalonian player will have a lot that to say on his future. The ideal setting is to do a transfer to New York. David Reads and Nate Robinson seem the most probable currencies of change The ideal setting, and MARK.com can confirm that is being negotiated, is to do a transfer to New York. David Reads and Nate Robinson (both finish contract, but also we would be speaking of a situation of 'sign and trade') the most probable currencies of change seem. The Wolves have covered itself the backs in the position of base with the election of Jonny Flynn in the six, so an 'one' is not their priority. The statements of their 'general manager' David Kahn, in which said that its interest is to cause to play next to Flynn and to Ricky, they are not more than strategies of market. They have no sense basketball speaking. A sample more than the divorce of Ricky with Minnesota is that Spanish will not be in the traditional press conference that the elections of the 'Draft' give in the city of origin of the franchise. Yes they will be there Jonny Flynn and Wayne Ellington, the other two first rounds of the Wolves, but not Ricky. Symptomatic. __________________ He didn't even show for the press conference.. Wolves fans are TICKED off of course..feeling the should DEMAND CHANDLER and TWO #1's... I think TWO NBA PLAYERS for the price of a talented but unproven rookie should be enough.. i question if they have the cap space to do TWO sign and trades though..stay tuned...
