| Senior Member | The Knicks have had a nice run here, they've been entertaining if nothing else...they've gotten me through the end of the football season into the start of baseball, which is more than I can say for their recent years. Its obvious they are heading in the right direction and there will be a lot of interesting choices and things to follow with this team in the offseason (Lee/Nate, more contracts to dump, draft etc.)...but now its time to look at the lottery. They have no pick next year so in that situation obviously I'd be pulling for them to get that 8th seed even if its all about being 1 and done, but this year it hurts them to make the playoffs. Right now they have the 8th worst record in the league....they need to stay there. I think it's asking a lot for any of the teams behind them (except maybe the Raptors) to climb over them, but the big thing is the Knicks are within striking distance of not only the playoffs, but of very easily moving up 3-4 spots which does nothing for them. So I hope they continue to bust it out on the court, but they badly need to hold a top 8 position for the extra shot at moving up. Its probably just a pipe dream for them to get a lucky bounce and end up in a position to snag Blake Griffin or James Harden, but depending on how things shuffle out they may have a decent shot at one of the big guys - Hasheem Thabeet (who I know is overrated, but if there is a 7 footer who's a match for this system its him), Greg Monroe, or Jordan Hill |

| Senior Member | Good job by the Knicks losing 9 of 10 to let Toronto slip % points ahead of them. With just an extra bit of lack of effort they might just open the door enough to let Golden State slide by..... It'll take a lot of not caring and sleeping on the job, but I think they can do it. |

As a bonus maybe he can suffer some kind of career ending injury in the process taking his $$ off the books so the Knicks can actually afford to keep 1 or 2 of the guys who give a crap. | |

| Funny..I was looking at the standings to check out how bad they have been..,,I think they may be LOCKEd in at 6 worst at this point..but w/o looking at GS schedule..they do seem to play hard..so who knows..its hysterical how they went in the tank as soon as D'antoni mentioned playoffs..

So heading in to home stretch: Knicks: (30 wins) (8th) Apr 7 at Chicago Apr 8 vs Detroit Apr 10 at Orlando Apr 12 at Miami Apr 15 vs New Jersey Raptors: (30 Wins) (9th) Apr 7 vs Atlanta Apr 8 at Indiana Apr 10 vs Washington Apr 12 vs Philadelphia Apr 13 at Washington Apr 15 at Chicago Warriors: (28 Wins) (7th) Apr 8 vs Minnesota Apr 10 vs Houston Apr 11 at Utah Apr 13 vs San Antonio Apr 15 at Phoenix Nets: (32 Wins) (T-10th) Apr 8 at Boston Apr 10 at Detroit Apr 11 vs Orlando Apr 13 vs Charlotte Apr 15 at New York Raptors have easiest schedule and game in hand..think they will Win MORE than Knicks.. Warriors have been playing well..and depending on needs of payoff teams in west...have a tougher schedule Nets..also depending on decisions of payoff teams..may or may not have tough schedule plus a HEAD TO HEAD and end of season.. Could see Knicks winning no MORE than 2 games..and Locked in for 8th..

| Yes ...and NO... I personally thought it was being done with "smoke and mirrors" anyway and the Short rotation was gonna catch up with them and they would tire out anyway...but . what I can also take out of it is this.. This can and SHOULD provide valuable information to the future of franchise in regards to WHO should STAY or GO when this team unveils the "master plan" for knicks in 2010 and beyond.. personally their is not much I want to see come back for this team.. Chandler and Lee hopefully stick around.. everyone else (including Nate) can be flushed down the toilet..(Gallinari has to show me something NEXT year or he can join them too) and If Lee gets a MEGA OFFER from a team this offseason (a possibility)..then I don't think Knicks should match either..

| Senior Member | I dont even want Lee around anymore to be honest.....*IF* he's getting the kind of money you hear rumored. What does he bring to the table? He's not a great shooter. Teams figured out the pick n' roll that got him most of his points. He's a HORRIBLE HORRIBLE defender. I know he gets matched up against guys bigger than him, but he loses them all the time allowing them to get way too many ez dunks and 5 foot shots. He has no idea how to play help D. Despite having good ups, he has zero timing for shot blocking. So he can rebound, but he's not even really a big time physical rebounder. He has good timing on his rebounds, but I see way too many times where he just cant box his man out. Chandler is the only guy on this team that plays any D. Maybe Duhan from earlier in the season, but he's been gassed for well over a month now. To me, if Lee or Nate are getting more than 5-6 mil per, they can both go. Anyone can average 10+ points a game in this offense so the Knicks just need to find someone who can bound a bit to replace Lee. |

While its nice to have lunch pail type of guy ala LEE..if he is the 4th option..he could be useful on Knicks in future...BUT not at the $$ he will be offered..he can be replaced witha vet for Mid level when Knicks are adding the FOUNDATION in 2010.. Nate.. the same as far as 6th man..could be useful..but again at what price.. and someone can be added to replace him as well..look at flip anderson with Hawks..he was gotten for nothing and filling the same role.. Duhon is WHAT HE IS..what he SHOULD have been considered to BEGIN with a BACKUP...I actually could see him sticking around IN THAT EXACT ROLE....not like he should get/command high $..

| Senior Member | There's been a lot of people hyping up the Knicks to get Flynn or Lawson in the draft..... Now I'm a big 'Cuse fan and Flynn is the man, but I think either of these moves would just be bad for the Knicks. 1 - I'm not a fan of small point guards 2 - Neither is a great shooter (tho Flynn is decent, just not from long range and could be a better finisher) 3 - Flynn for all his skills makes a lot of bad decisions This draft isnt deep with no brainers. You pretty much have Griffin, who's probably going to be an all-star in his first year...the guy is just incredibly good and maybe that Rubio kid playing over in europe and after that a lot of players with interesting upsides, but major issues - Harden who has the body and the game, but never seems to impose his will. Hasheem Thabeet who I still think would be an awesome fit for this club, but who knows if he'll ever be anything other than a shot blocker and a guy who can get some easy dunks - Hill who has tremendous athletic skills and shows flashes of possibly being a dominate player, but just is way too raw, etc etc. Extremely important draft for the Knicks here and after laying a clunker last year, they need a big win. My fingers are still crossed for a lucky bounce of the ping pong |

| I will have to defer to others on amatuer players since I don't follow and only know the Top names that get all the pub. but based on what you hear is there..I would say pg is the way to go....Thabeet may be ok..IF the Knicks ever decide to instill a defensive gameplan to arsenal...but if he is a non factor on offense..doubt he fits knicks profile..every year there seems to be a guy that gets picked in 2nd round whom nobody ever heard of and makes an impact in league..maybe they get lucky..for all his errors..and they WERE MANY, and I couldn't stand him in the end.. isaih thomas as a gm was good a finding those diamonds in the rough..I doubt he would have picked gallinari and may have gotten a better piece for this puzzle..
