4 year deal for Jacobs

Four-year deal worth $25 million with $13 million guaranteed and $15 million paid out over the first two years.

Absolute steal.

He gave up a lot of potential money in the 3rd and 4th years to cover himself in regard to a career ending injury.

He was guaranteed 6.6 this year and if franchised next year (Giants would if he's healthy) he would have made at least another 7.2 mil.

So, he cashed in both franchise years (at least 13.8 mil) for a guaranteed $15 mil over the same time frame. Plus, gave the Giants a very reasonable (and releaseable) numbers in year 3 and 4.

Great re-signing. Needed to be done, as Dak noted, a steal.

I heard somewhere that Ward is going to sign with the Browns..

There was talk of bringing Ward back and really I want him to go. I like him, but I'd like to see Bradshaw out there more. The only worry is Jacobs injury prone nature....but there's a ton of good backs already out on the market and more to follow. I'm sure the Giants can grab a 3rd back on the cheap. They do need someone to catch the ball out of the backfield.
