Default Still think Frank should be fired?

I don't think he's a perfect coach by any means but no one can deny that Nets are playing better than expected. Good job! Now, we just have to get a competent SF.

Yes.

He's a decent coach, but the team's rebuilding so he'll get at least 2 more years. However, this team is still terrible in D for a defensive coach. The Nets are out shooting everyone when they win and when they miss...well you seen the Laker game.

Are they playing better or worse than expected?

They are playing expected, that's why I''m not giddy. This team isn't OKC or the Bobcats. They have the talent to win some good games. Problem is if Frank overmanages, as usual, well...look at the Miami game or the Indiana games or more recently, the 2nd half of the Kings game.

They were not expected to be a .500 team.

The schedule so far, they SHOULD be a .500 team. SAC is beatable. ATL is beatable. Clippers are beatable. There are two wins so far this year that are downright surprising - Detroit and Toronto. The rest aren't surprising to me at all. Will they still be a .500 team, no. However, I'm not surprised that so far this young season they are 7-7.

They've beaten Det, Toronto and Atlanta TWICE. Four wins against teams that are better than them. They are playing better than expected - that's why Frank deserves to stay. If Red Auerbach comes back from the dead and wants to coach the Nets, fine but until then, Frank has done a good job and does not deserve to be fired.

The schedule? They've also played Pho, LAL, and Cle. This is not an easy schedule by any means.

Atlanta isn't better than the Nets. They won THREE more games than the Nets last year. Three. People seem to forget that because 37 wins was enough to get them to the playoffs. They are overrated and beatable.

They won 3 more in the Pre-Bobby Simmons era (ie w/ Richard Jefferson). How is ATL better? They were better than us last year and if you take out the TWO times the Nets beat them, they are 9-3.

The Nets have done better than expected.

Please stop with the if we take out this and that. The fact is they can be beaten and that they are overrated.

The Nets are playing as expected so far. A .500 team.

Anybody can be beaten. I never said otherwise.

The point is that the Nets beat four teams that were considered better than them. ATL is 9-5, 9-3 not including Nets losses. That's a good team.

They beat teams they weren't supposed to. Frank has done a good job so far.

How could anyone predict a .500 record this year?

The Nets weren't supposed to be good but you expected them to be .500? Which is it? Find me one sportsbook that had an over/under on 41 wins for the Nets.

They beat two very good teams, and the rest on their level IMO. Hell, some of their losses were vs. teams of their level or below (Miami, Indiana). The Nets are not as bad as people making them out to be. They really DID needed to win the first game of the season with that tough couple of games to start, but they are not that bad. They are not play off contending, but they aren't the Wizards. They are not The Clippers. They are not so horrible that you just can't watch them...except when they face the elite. Then you can't watch.

I DO give Frank credit for a few things - He's now willing to play the young guys more and make their mistakes and learn from them. Something he never did with other guys in the past.

He makes the right D call in the clutch (see Kings game) despite the fact the Nets can't defend shooters if their life depended on it.

He's playing more Williams. Lopez getting a start w/o the fans BEGGING Frank to do it like we did with Boone last year.

Both. Since I said so far this young season they should be at .500

Also love how you pick and choose which parts of the quote to use. How about the rest of that hope quote.

For Frank to not overuse Hayes, Najera, and Hassell while CDR, SWAT, and Anderson rot? For the rooks to show progress? For Carter not to snap and ask to be traded to a championship team?

They are better than YOU made them out to be before the season started. They are doing better than you expected.

Jus sayin.
