Other great scenes: Texas Chainsaw Massacre – The girl walks slowly from the yard swing, the big blue Texas sky above, and into the creepy-quiet house, looking for her boyfriend. Investigates, coming across a room filled with twisted bone trophies, feathers, chickens in cages, all sorts of bizarre stuff… as she turns to run out, Leatherface charges out from behind a camoflaged metal sliding door and grabs her just as she reaches the porch, screaming… terrifying. Taxi Driver – Travis goes to the pimp’s place to “rescue” Iris. Remains of the Day – The scene between Emma Thompson and Anthony Hopkins where she presses close to him to see his book. An insanely intense game of emotional cat and mouse between a playful, curious woman and a severely smitten but self-destructively emotional cripple. Punch Drunk Love – Several scenes, but probably my favorite is the scene between Sandler and Philip Seymour Hoffman in the mattress warehouse, with Sandler standing there with the disconnected phone receiver telling Hoffman how what he did was wrong, and that he won’t be taking his sh*t anymore. I also love the scene where he’s in Hawaii trying to find Emily Watson’s character, and he calls his sister (Mary Lynn Rajskub) from a pay phone to find out the woman’s phone number, and flips out on her when she busts his balls. All this while a parade is going by. Pulp Fiction – Vincent and Jules in Jimmie’s bathroom, covered in blood and brain matter, bickering like an old married couple about etiquette with guest towels. Grindhouse – Death Proof – The final thirty seconds of the Tarantino segment… visceral, surreal, and hilarious. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind – Jim Carrey’s character desperately trying to outrun the vaporization of his memories. The Game – Michael Douglas walks through the secret “CRS” cafeteria, seeing all the people/actors who have been effing with him over the past few weeks sitting together as if it were a Monday lunchtime at an accountant office. Alien – Ripley’s sweat-soaked, strobe-light journey to the Nostradamus’ escape ship as the self-destruct countdown sounds and we have no idea where the murderous alien is hiding. Memento – Leonard snapping back into his present consciousness, but not remembering if he’s chasing the guy, or if the guy is chasing him through the parking lot. About Schmidt – Schmidt, forced to stay in his future son-in-law’s old room on the eve of his daughter’s wedding, has his suspicions verified upon seeing the mulleted water bed salesman’s childhood bedroom wall adorned with beer mirrors and “Participant” award ribbons. (The emotional final scene is also quite brilliant and moving). Election – Matthew Broderick’s character, who has finally “moved on” from his losing battle with Tracy Flick, spots his former student getting into a congressman’s limo on a trip to Washington while on vacation from his museum tour guide job… and flings his full soda cup at the limo. Being John Malkovich – “But it’s MY HEAD, Schwartz! I’ll see you in court!” …and “Think fast, Malkovich!!” Children of Men – The war-zone journey of Clive Owen from the hideout to the building where the mother and child are being held captive. The street explodes in violence all around him as the camera tracks his every frightening step to save the future of mankind. Drugstore Cowboy – With their friend and fellow druggie (Heather Graham) dead of an overdose, Matt Dillon’s character freaks out about “that f*cking hat on the bed!!” Fargo – Pregnant Marge skillfully investigates the murder of the highway patrolman and the couple on the side of the frozen highway as her hick dolt partner “oh, yah’s” her smart observations. Crimes and Misdemeanors – The chilling final scene between tuxedo’d Woody and Martin Landau, where Woody has basically given up on enjoying life, and Landau halfway confesses to murder and revels in getting away with it. I’ll come up with more… LOL

| The end of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope with Princess Leia giving out the medals. Taken right out of that Nazi propoganda flick!

As for Star Wars scenes, the duel between Vader and Luke in Empire has to be right up there.

| Oh, and while I revel in my geekiness, the final fight scenes with Aragorn killing a bajillion Uruk Hai in Fellowship of the Ring gets my vote for action/fight scenes. The cocky walk where he knows he's hard on first seeing them is the dogs bollocks. |

| I just watched that movie on Sunday night, and there's several great scenes in that movie (including the opening shot), but that scene in the train station is ****ing excellent.

| Super Moderator | How about these scenes from "Tombstone"... The one after Marshal White is shot and killed by Curly Bill... The lead-in (The Earps and Holliday walking side by side) AND the actual gunfight at the OK Corral... The "Tell them that Hell's coming with me" scene. |

"Wyatt Earp is my friend." "Hell, I've got lots of friends." "I don't." I almost shed a tear during that scene.
