| Ok, this is shaping up to be better than the first. I can't decide what I liked better, the first Delta launch or a ship with zero rating for ice breaking getting stuck in an ice field twice. My favorite crew member has to be the woman who is fresh out of the Navy. She's clearly the only person on the ship with any idea of what's going on and has called just about every mishap so far. "You know, it may not be a good idea to wait out a storm behind an iceberg." Next morning they're surrounded by ice and are about to sink the ship. "It looks a bit too choppy to launch the Delta for the first time." It nearly capsizes and when they do launch it heads in the opposite direction of the whalers. |

| I missed this past Friday's episode because I was in flagrante delicto and it's sitting on my DVR waiting to be viewed. The season opening, with all the tears flowing and anguish over watching the whale get killed, was pure gold. I agree on the Navy chick, I figured it would be a good mix taking a former Navy officer with flight deck officer qualifications and actual Arctic experience and throwing her on board with an undisciplined mob that doesn't know what it's doing.

| So after reading the thread from Season One of this crazy show, but never watching it, I made it a point to wathcing this last night. Holy ****. Lets put it this way...when their little boat capsized...I was rooting....ROOTING that they all drowned. Now...I've watched Deadliest since the first ep and was almost in tears when the survivors of the Katmai incident were telling their stories and eulogizing the men who died a few episodes ago. So this is not "azzhole RK" here posting. But these clowns on Whale Wars? Its NOT that they are a bunch of Obama voting, granola eating pantywaist ****turds that makes me wish for them to take a bath in the South Atlantic. Its that they are just.......MORONS. You know the type.....idiots that do such stupid ****, under the guise that they think they know what they are doing better than "YOU" (and love to tell YOU they do), that you just wind up saying "Go ahead, stupid!" and you hope they get their collective asses kicked just so they learn their lesson. Plus the fact that the Captian, the most useless idiot Ive ever seen, has a long history of this ****. I read up on him and there are former crewmen who have come right out and said he is a major league doooosh who would just assume see one of his crewmen die so that he could get some good PR. Great show. I hope the boat ****ing sinks. Watching them all scatter to try to get their asses into some kind of lifeboat and/or survival suit will be gold. Comedy gold.

| Run it down to about 1:45 and listen to the complete waste of oxygen that is the first mate: "Practice isn't going to help that much...someone's just as likely to get hurt in practice as the real thing." Basically that guy just said two things: 1) We don't know what a work-up is, we can't plan a drill and besides, drills are useless and that's why we don't do them, and 2) We view the crew as expendable Those are definitely the leadership traits you want from a mate at sea in one of the worst pieces of water on the globe. As much as I hate the fat Stay-Puft looking idiot of a captain, the biggest, most ignorant, most want to punch him in the face for his sheer idiocy jackbag on that boat is the first mate. The best comment on the whole show is in the above video as well, from the boat driver: "You want something like this to be foolproof when you have this many fools involved."

| The first mate is the biggest piece of **** on the show -- anyone see on this week's episode where he goes on an anti-military tirade when someone tries to propose a checklist for the delta launch? "We run laps around the Navy. It takes them twice as long for them to do anything." HE COULDN'T EVEN FIGURE OUT WHAT 10 O'CLOCK TRANSLATED TO WHEN TRYING TO NAVIGATE. |

| You know.....KNOW in the next ep that they will blow right past the point where they could even remotely return to harbor without running out of gas. And despite how completely idiotic they are....WHO THE HELL IS FUNDING THIS OPERATION???!!!?? They arent exactly wanting for equipment. And whoever IS funding this boondoggle, arent they at least a LITTLE pissed that all their money is being spent on fools like this?

| As a "reality-based" TV show, would they be able to more quickly summon assistance if their "mission" went really south? I remember one episode when they lost the launch boat and had to actually hail a none-too-pleased Japanese whaling ship captain - that they had been harassing - for assistance in finding their associates. Does anyone want to see an alpha mama blue whale and her pod knock that ****ing ship over and let the crew freeze to death. It'd be like that stupid ****ing Alaskan bullshit operation a few years ago when Kotzebue (sp?) Bay or some other retarded township spent $100K+ to rehab a couple of sea otters that got soaked in an oil slick. They threw a parade with a marching band and a big party for the release.... About five minutes into watching these overgrown rodents frolic in the sea the crowd was rendered silently horrified as a killer whale surfaced and swallowed both of them. I've searched and searched on youtube for that clip but can't find it.

| Man, all that build up about the first mate, and then at the end of last night's show he leaves the crew once they docked in Hobart. "I've got a mortgage to pay..." Yeah, nice try at fooling everyone that you've got a real job. I'm sure it had nothing to do with the fact that you're a giant piece of trash more interested in belittling your crew and being "right" than working with them. I love how by the end of last night's show not a single crewmember would speak up in favor of the douchebag. Every last person just talked about what an ass he was. The one guy basically said, "Whatever I contributed to him leaving, I consider my greatest accomplishment aboard this ship." And that was right on the money, bub. I love how unconcerned the first mate was with the ship's fuel situation...he was gloating that they docked with 8 tons of fuel left over. 8 tons of fuel, 16,000 lbs, at approx. 8 pounds to the gallon you got back with about 2000 gallons of fuel....which aboard a vessel that size is probably about 200 miles of steaming, in fair weather, maybe. Yeah, that's a huge margin of error in the Antarctic Sea there, genius, you really showed them. In other news, I think I want to nail that former-Navy-officer-now-hippy chick now. I want to take her to Burning Man and do indescribable things to her.

| HA...just started watching this season..spot on with all the sentiments..that stubborn captain is gonna get them in a world of trouble too..it seems like when the $hit hits the fan..he is unsure what to do...the REAL CONFIDENCE BOOSTER..,,I also gotta laugh at the one Japanese chick trying to hide her identity for fear of "repercussions" to her family..she using just a hankie?? If I was that concerned..I would use a WHOLE BERKA(sp?)....I gotta believe she would be recognized by somebody over there.. I'll stick with it for a while longer..but not sure if its gonna KEEP my attention unless some serious action happens soon..

| Way to cheapen this thread 1418479896747. Go play in traffic you douchebag. Tomorrow is going to be a classic episode just from the previews. Stay-Puft says, "In 30+ years of doing this, this is the first time I've actually seen a whale get killed." I love it when reality slaps hippies in the face.

| This epi was great. Their mantra has always been that if the japs are getting chased they can't hunt whale. Well they killed 4 in like 6 hours right in front of them including play by play from the helicopter. Tears, anguish, shock from the dumb activists. They were so shocked that they could do that in front of them. How could they! TV gold.

| The combination of plain shock, outright mourning and righteous indignation was beautiful. I love this show. Pure hippies are fascinating. You just can't look at a full blown hippy and help but wonder what the **** happened in their childhood that sent them over to the hippy side. I'm not talking about people who show occasional hippyish tendencies or even just plain liberals, I'm talking pure, all out, take no prisoners hippies. They're all ****ed up in the brainpan and they all look like survivors of child molestation or something if you listen to them for more than 3 minutes. I'd still nail the Navy chick though. I'd hold her tight and tell her "It'll be ok, we'll save the whales together" and then I'd **** her like a mink raping a weasel.
