Well, they finally got to the 4-toed statue. Taweret was the goddess of pregnancy, so it seems logical that the destruction of the statue and the baby issues are going to be dealt with.
They've seemingly broached the subject of what/who the Smoke Monster is.

I can only think of a couple things that I really want to know about from the first few seasons:

Adam/Eve
The Numbers
The extent of Jacob's power

I can't think of anything else I even care about. I didn't like Walt, so I'm glad he's disappeared.

I read a while (a year+) ago that the writers may not address every question. I'm of the belief that Season 6 is going to be rapid fire answers to the more important questions.

Very cool mythology-related post-finale column by Doc Jensen up at EW:

Juliet's Odyssey

My outstanding LOST questions:

1. Why Kate is still alive?
2. Who is Evangeline Lilly blowing that she gets to keep her job on LOST?

Other than that:

What was so special about Walt?
What's the deal with Christian/Claire?
Will the poisonous spiders ever matter?
What is the temple?
What's inside the temple?
What does Charles Widmore have to do with anything?
Where can I buy that scotch Widmore drinks?
Will Aaron spend the rest of his years eating ketchup and sleeping?
Who is Hurley actually talking to when he speaks to dead people?
Did Hurley prevent the Ewoks from being written into existence?
Who was that Dharma-founding Hansen dude they tried to push for the first few seasons?
How did those French dudes change when they went into the Temple hole?
What is the significance of being a "candidate"?
What did Farraday really know when he came back to the Island?

I think I could go on for awhile, actually...

so... i'm pretty sure Christian was never alive and was just Esau the entire time. claire is on the island somewhere without aaron

the black monster serves Esau as shown by it telling ben to do whatever "locke" told him to

how did the statue fall? considering it was up when the black rock came, ben knows how it fell, it seems they should at least answer that

I have begun to watch Lost Season One all over again to get my fix and there are some really interesting tidbits you pick up knowing now what you didn't know then:

John Locke - Alright, he is paralyzed...but gets up and walks around after the plane crash. Chalk it up to the Mystery of the island...right? After all, Rose's cancer is gone too...so the Island has healing powers...correct? I say there is more to his story. John Locke is involved in every mysterious happening during season one so far - He stares down the black smoke monster (even though we have yet to see the smoke) and there is no more mention of it, he hits Boon in the back of the head and Boon goes on his "Imaginary journey" where the smoke monster kills his sister Shannon. Boon claims it was so real. Locke asks him what happened and he then tells Boon that the Island is showing him his path and that he needs to drop his canerous step sister like a bad habit. (Boon of course does not take this advice and both die) Sawyer's run in with a spiteful Boar that antagonizes him, tears down his tarp and makes a mess of Sawyer's belongings...even peeing on his shirt. Locke tells sawyer a story of a Dog that came to his Step Mother after his sister's death to ease her pain and says that the universe has a funny way of being symetrical and sybiotic and that the Boar may be the same thing...all this while the "Flashbacks" show Sawyer killing an innocent man, think it was the real Sawyer. The episode ends with Sawyer about to Kill the Boar...but then changing his mind after a 30 second stare down. Locke has a contentious relationship with Michael and Walt, constantly telling Michael to get closer to Walt and telling him he belongs on the Island and that he is special. Michael takes Walt off of the Island, he eventually dies on the frieghter after a miserable couple of years and Walt is seen in Season 5 saying he ofetn thinks of Locke. I doubt we have seen the last of Walt. Even though I haven't gotten there (again), think of Locke's relationship with Mr. Eko and how they had a battle of beliefs....and Mr. Eko's demise at the hands of the smoke monster....coincidence?

John Locke has mystical things happening around him at every turn...is it a stretch to say that perhaps Esau (or whomever the man in black is) inhabits John Locke from the very beginning? Maybe even without Locke's knowledge and Locke's "MUST HAPPEN" death was the catalyst to the man in black having full control over Locke's body?

I am of the belief that the "Bomb" never goes off. That the Island starts to "skip" again and "what happened happened"...meaning there was an incredible electro-magnetic pulse, which causes the noise that you hear every time the Losties skipped in time, and if you remember what Jacob said when he was being stabbed..."They're coming"...I think this giant Electro Magnetic pulse caused by the drilling not only jetisons the folks in 1977 back to the future...including the dying Juliet who was trying to smash the bomb, but also sends a shockwave out that knocks down the statue. Everytime they went through time there was a blinding white light...is it a coincidence that this was the first lost to end with a White Back drop and a black"LOST" vs. the black back drop and the white word "LOST"...I thinks not! The "Eletro Magnetic" shock wave is "The Incident"

Yeah, that's actually another plot-line that seemed to be going somewhere big, and just plain stopped. The reason? The actor didn't feel like being on the show anymore. LOL

I am still waiting for "answers". So far, only more questions. I also hate episodes dedicated to Kate.

I have been watching, and while I love this show, I have been a little underwhelmed thus far.

I absolutely loathe the Kate episodes and I have ever since the 2nd season. I'm just glad that they got it out of the way and hope they dont do another one.

And yeah, more 3 more questions for every "answer" they conjure up. 13 left to go, so many loose ends, definitely with you Nick, love the show, just not loving it right now. Kind of like the Mets I guess. Only problem is, lost could turn it around with one John Locke or Ben Episode, the Mets...pfffft.

It may or not be in THIS Lost thread, but I've defended this show in past years, but now, I just kinda have to give up. This used to be a great character show, and now it's just chess pieces moving here and there. Looks like they are really struggling to retrofit all the weird crap they threw at us in the first few seasons into some semblance of a story... but they really can't... so they're throwing the friggin' kitchen sink at us and hoping we don't really notice or care about that as they kick up the sad music every episode for a new "tear jerker" scene.

Eh. I'll watch, but I'll have a hard time believing these guys really "knew what they were doing this entire time." I think they winged it. And that sucks, because this used to be a really compelling show.

I really liked last night's episode. But, I agree this idea that they had this all mapped out from the start is bullshit and is exemplified by the fact that the second season completely sucked for about 2/3's of it.
