| I saw this trailer before the Bond movie on Saturday. To me it looked awful. I have no interest in seeing an Emo version of Star Trek.

| I think it looks like it might be good. If it was very Kirk oriented with a little Spock it could be great. But there was one clip there with Scotty and the idea of an entire juvenile version of the ensemble... I don't know, something about it rubs me the wrong way. It's the next step from "Muppet Babies" and "A Pup Named Scooby Doo" and other stuff that annoys me. |

| I actually think it'll be quite good. A lot of hard-core trekkies aren't into the movies so much, because the good movies have a lot more action than the TV shows. Look at "Star Trek: The Motion Picture." My goodness, that was like over 2 hours of boredom. They spent about 10 minutes on a freakin' shuttlecraft ride without dialogue. But hard-core trekkies dig that kinda crap. I like the action, I like Star Trek (and all of the spinoffs, except for Voyager and Enterprise, which I never gave a chance to). I'll probably like this movie.

| Next thing you know we've got Shia Lebouf as Spock. Ugh.

I mean it kicked off the "Every Other Film" theory that says, for the most part, the even movies ruled (Kahn, First Contact, Voyage Home, Undiscovered Country with Nemesis being the exception) while all of the odd movies have been dreadful (Generations probably is the lone exception to that rule). | |

| For me undiscovered country is the best. An eye-patched Shakespeare quoting Klingon villain? cant get more baddass than that. That said, the new one looks intriguing, more epic and with more back story than the others, which I like in a movie. Cant wait to see this trailer with my lady-friend, have her show interst in seeing it after that opening car scene, and then watch her freak out when she realizes its actually a trek film |
