Jorge Sosa was outstanding on the mound and Ruben Gotay provided the offense in New Orleans 9-4 win over Alba... Albuker... That city Bugs Bunny forgets to make the left at. Lastings Milledge did leave in the 4th with a bruised right foot.

Anderson Hernandez 2-4, 2B
Ruben Gotay 2-4, 2 2B 5 RBI
Carlos Gomez 1-4
Lastings Milledge 0-1
Chip Ambres 1-4, HR (2)
Fernando Tatis 2-4, 2B HR (3) 2 RBI
Mike DiFelice 2-4, .381 Avg
Jason Alfaro 1-5, RBI
Jorge Sosa 1-3
Ricky Ledee 1-2

Jorge Sosa 7 IP 7 H 2 ER 0 BB 8 K Win (3-0)

Guerra seems to be pitching really well so far this year, made even more impressive by the fact that he is a year or so younger than everybody else in the sally league if i am not mistaken. I think i read somewhere that he seems to have added 4-5 MPH to his fastball over the winter, anybody know if that is accurate?

Sosa has moved light years ahead of Park in the "let's send Pelfrey down now" race...

I wonder when/if the Mets would have interest in adding Sosa to the bullpen in place of Burgos. IMO, Sosa should be converted to short relief right away at AAA in preparation for a possible audition in the Mets bullpen.

It's still early, but it's looking like I bet on the wrong horse in advocating for Park as the early-season fifth starter.

I never knew Sosa was a Zambrano, aka, crappy position player (OF with a career .646 OPS in the Rockies organization) turned Pitcher. He never stepped on a mound until he was 23, which means he was a year older than Henry Owens was when he made the transition...

http://thebaseballcube.com/players/S/Jorge-Sosa.shtml

And speaking of Owens, he had to be pulled in the 9th last night to salvage the Marlins win. If people think Pelfrey's drop in K/9 is bad, Owens has gone from 16.65/9 at Binghamton in 2006 to 3.45/9 for the Marlins, and 12.32/9 career in the minors to 3.45/9 in the majors. He's a fly-ball pitcher who's not missing bats, which is dangerous even in Florida...
