| Are there any coaches or trainers out there who know how to effectively accomplish this? The reason why I an asking is Delgado. I am hoping that he was working on getting that back this winter. Regardless about how members of this message board feel about his politics or his one really stupid statement about being bored last year. We need the guy to hit for us this year or we are in trouble. Last edited by Mex17 : 02-07-2008 at 09:56 AM. |

| Depends on what his troubles really were last year. If he was compensating for some injury, maybe it wasnt a lack of bat speed so much as it was discomfort. He did get hot a few times only to have some freak injury sidelining him for 10-15 days. I can see him declining in 2007, but not at the rapid pace it happened at (38HR 116RBI in 06 to 24/87 in 07). So only time and AB will tell. Agreed, team will be in trouble if he doesnt hit.

| I think salfino on SNY said it, and I think it's a great phrase: delgado will bounce back the way a dead cat bounces. that captures how I feel about it - I think he'll do better than last year, maybe even be an above-average first baseman (offensively speaking), but his days of monster production are behind him. |

Oh, because you don't like his politics, that's why. Of course, how foolish of me.

Delgado I'm hoping was simply not entirely healed up from his surgery.

I'm is a snit about this because I read some preview mag last night that basically said that "Delgado has lost his bat speed and that's it", but that makes no sense given Alou (assuming that Moises is not on the juice).
