Default The Johan Santana Watch

This is gonna be just like the Beltran thread, I can feel it. Mets will have Santana wrapped up by Friday, Saturday the latest.

My scenario - the Mets and Twins finalize a deal pending a contract extension ......

Wilpon and Wilpon, surprised that the Twins accept, proceed to negotiate without good faith and then tell the fanbase what a concerted effort they made to get a deal done with "a great, legit #1 ace", thus proving how committed they are to putting a winner on the field.

I thought it was going to be a pic of a watch or something. I actually agree with KO and that scares me. I am not ready to go out and buy a white hood but in this case I agree with KO

If the twins really want the 2 outfielders and only 2 of the 3 pitchers as originally thought, this has to get done.

Santana and Pedro with Maine and Perez will be a pretty awesome rotation. El Duque in the mix as the #5 should take a load of the bullpen.

Instead of the white hood, why don't you just take a shower or maybe get a job.

Really? We're all gonna go nuts when they get him, then only later realize what an inert piece of delicate mole crap he truly is?

I'm going to start sending you bills for monitors and keyboards that I destroy with spit takes of coffee and Red Bull.

Say what you want about the perceptions surrounding Beltran - after two straight Gold Glove and Silver Slugger Awards he's looking like a bargain in the current MLB economic environment for OF's.

You can't seriously state that guys like Aaron Rowand, Alfonso Soriano and Cliff Lee are in Beltran's class.

I don't know what's dumber, the fact that Chucky thinks you have to buy white hoods, or that he'd be walking into walls because the eyeholes were in the back.

Yanks will storm in last second and offer the Twins Hughes, Melky and whoever else they want. You really think Georgie will let Santana be a Met? Common. Plus The Mets like watching their fans suffer and cry, why would they give us 5 minutes of joy and happiness?
