Also, keep this is mind. Had we signed Rowand it would be to play right field. I think my argument was that Church in right seems to be better than Rowand in right, IMO.

Church is similar to greats like Benny Agbayani, Josh Willingham and Jody Gerut according to Baseball Reference

Willingham isn't terrible. I wouldn't mind him on the Mets.

Bah. Milledge is Milton Bradley without the competitive fire. I actually feel good about ridding the team of a clubhouse cancer. I just wish we'd gotten more in return for him.

I'm sorry, but what a completely ridiculous, baseless thing to say, especially when the problems on this team are worse and bigger than Milledge and/or LoDuca.

I never heard Milledge say he was bored, or did anything that undermined his
manager. The clowns that DID say and do those things.. well they are still on the team.

Anyway, he's off the team now... maybe the scapegoating can stop now. I'm Omar will find someone else to blame next season.

Yep scapegoat the kid who wasn't even in the lineup everyday, didnt complain, and still hit rockets off his bat.

Exactly. Comparing this team to the past does what good now? Green and his weak bat hurt us last year. Certainly the team had other issues, but more power in right would have helped. Instead, we replace green with the same thing. We lose a chance to upgrade at a position is all.

We increased payroll with the move and got older and worse. I don't buy the defensive upgrade over Milledge either.

There are plenty of accusations that can be made about Milledges behaviour, but anyone watching the game could see he upped his game in key situations.

MY post has little to do with Green and everything to do with what YOU said about needing a power hitting RF and how it was necessary...which it most certainly is not.

Well, it's all kinda/sorta speculation at this point, but the kid certainly did enough negative things during his brief time in the bigs to send up some red flags. Maybe he'll mature and turn it around, but my gut instinct is telling me that he's gonna be the sort of guy who will continually tantalize people with his potential but never fully realize it.

Hey, I never said he was the only clubhouse cancer.
