Few notes:

Sweeney was on with Beningo and said that Baltimore will likely leave the meetings without trading Bedard. Additionally, the Mets are willing to trade any young player not named Wright or Reyes for Bedard.

He hasn't heard anything about Angelos being reluctant to trade with the Mets again.

Nothing is expected to happen until Santana is traded. I've read the Yankees are hot on Haren who scouts think will be "every bit the ace Beckett and Santana are". If so, unless Seattle gets serious we may not be in a bidding war to land this trade.

I would think the Dodgers will give the Mets the toughest competition for Bedard. They do have a far better farm system than the Mets.

does Haren even throw a solid breaking ball? that is just silly, Beckett offered no guarantees when the Sox dealt for him, but even a turd could see the upside between Beckett and Haren is night and day.

one could argue that if that were so, they would not be suiting up guys like Gonzalez, Nomar, Pierre...

they'd be robbing peter to pay paul to make a move for Bedard, they would not be sending prospects, they'd be sending guys who had major league success in 2007

This Haren stuff makes no sense. Why is he mentioned in trades to every team in the universe if he's that kind of ace. The A's control him beyond this year at a more then reasonable price so why the rush to trade him. Something stinks here.

There was someone wearing a nice dress walking into the room. It might have just been John Maine saying hello.

It's good that Angelos probably shares Omar's affinity for big-butted chicanas...

Know what I'm sayin'?

You think Omar is going to try and trade Colon to the Orioles? Doesn't he have to sign him first?

True, she needs to cut down on the walks next year.
