I think this comparison is much better than the Kazmir trade

Too contingent on next season and beyond. Does Delgado prove that last year was a fluke? Or does he continue declining? Does Milledge take advantage of the chance to play all season and put up better numbers than Jacobs has been putting up? Does Jacobs break out and put together a much better season than he has the past two seasons?

At the moment, I'd say the Milledge trade has more potential to be worse.

Delgado aged a little quicker than was hope for, but Delgado lived up to expectations in 2006 and nearly helped the Mets into the World Series, and the Mets gave up forgettable, commodity prospects in exchange for him. As disappointing as Delgado was in 2007, I was always behind that trade and it still looks good now.

The Milledge trade is the worse trade.

Delgado's an ass. Milledge is an ass. One goes one way, one goes the other way. You do the math.

Milledge trade was dumb, but even the dumbest fan knows you can't judge it till the players step on the field.

I love how Milledge has suddenly become this player that the Mets just cannot do without.

Some people said this was worse than Kazmir/Zambrano.

I just don't get it.

There should be a list kept of the people who said that, and they should be reminded of it at every possible opportunity.

Every time Church hits a 2B or Schneider make a nice defensive play, Im gonna bump either of the two threads chock-full of hysterics.

Ya know....just for kicks.

Um, no. As soon as the Kazmir trade was announced you could judge it as a monumentally stupid trade. This one while not in the same league, based on the fact that the team had to take on 8 figures in salary for 2 mediocre players is pretty dumb as well.

WHO? Seriously I'm getting sick of people just saying this, because I didn't see anyone who has. I want names. And please keep in mind that a mere comparison does not constitute saying it was worse.

Where there is a correlation (JMO) is both could have been traded sooner for much, much better players/talent. Remember how just about everyone went nuts when there was Kazmir for Soriano talk. Fred himself bullsh!tted Kazmir about how he was going nowhere.

Who knew that only months later...

While I think the players they got for Milledge (mainly Church.. I think Schneider is bleh) could be nice contributors, Zambrano was always a piece of crap, and nothing was expected of him.

I still feel Omar can fix this shaky deal by getting a top starting pitcher. IMO, then the "healing" will begin. If he can get Haren, Bedard, hell even D-Train, people will forget about this trade.
