| Does anyone have another link suggesting that the Ryan Church deal was just to get the extra player to make a deal for Bedard possible (or even Haren for that Matter). Apparently, the Orioles message boards are stating that MacPhail rejected the Mets offer of Gomez, Heilman, and Pelfrey for Bedard. Adding Church to that mix would be a hell of a lot for Bedard IMHO. We would be left with many holes. Here is one link that is suggesting just that (although their source is just today's Daily News story on the Milledge trade). Any other links. | I second that article's suggestion that the Mets should throw in Alay Soler to round out their package.

| You're right - Soler is gone. I was just making a little joke at the expense of whoever wrote that blog piece who thought Soler was still in the system.

| He's re-enacting the plot of Major League. They have an offer to move the team to Miami! Wait, what? There's already a...****. Well it'll be a remake, things get altered in remakes, they'll have an offer to move the team to Las Vegas.

Lo Duca was paid 6.5m last season. His and Schneider's offensive stats weren't all that dissimilar.

| If you look at Lo Duca's games played each season, it resembles a hill that peaked back in 2002. To be fair to Pauly though, he's always had a much better slugging percentage than Schneider, even outside of the seasons where his stats spiked higher than usual. Of course the question is, will Schneider hit a shitty .230 or a mediocre ~.260 like he mostly had been able to do prior to 2007. I can't believe Schneider managed a better OBP in '07, the announcers weren't kidding when they always said that while it's hard to strike Paul out, it's also hard to walk him lol.
