I would not because to me it's a knee jerk reaction to a down season. I could be very wrong and he could continue to look less and less like the offensive ultra spark plug he was thought to be at the start of 2007. But I still say he's a guy you have to keep.

I don't see aquiring two as being feasible really. Even if Reyes meant you spend a lot less on one, you likely have to include more than just him, and likely just enough chips to exclude you from aquiring the 2nd ace.

I didn't say it was possible. I asked if Reyes is expendable if he and a bunch of "Met blue-chip prospects" would net Santana AND another B+/A- guy (Haren, Kazmir, Sabathia, Bedard).

WHAT would YOU want from the Twins if Reyes was a centerpiece?

I would if there was a reasonable replacement for Reyes. Now that Arod is off the board, I don't see a replacement. Reyes brings alot to table in terms of defense and offensive spark.

For two young, topline starters? You'd be silly not to. Santana and another of those guys could bring your team as many as 40 wins a year. Whats Reyes give you over the average player? I love him but you trade him if it brings you 2 big starters.

That's along the lines I was thinking in that other thread Frank, but instead of setting it up as a three way trade i like your idea as separate trades. Plus you get Tejada to replace Reyes.

I would trade Reyes in a package to bring in Santana. There's not many players worth Reyes, but Santana is one of them.

because he was having a very solid season until July and I actually agree with Darling, his focus on stealing more bases was no help, frankly, I could care less if Reyes stole a base next year as long as he is on base to score runs

to Franks point, if it meant getting Santana and another pitcher it would certainly have to be considered, depends greatly on who the other pitcher is, but more so I would not want Tejada.
