| ESPN - Red Sox, Yankees both talking to Twins about Santana - MLB Does Lester project to be a top flight starter in the AL? I always viewed him middle of the rotation. Coco Crisp? Besides the fact he's nameed after a cereal, what's to like? He doesn't hit much and has a low OBP.

And if it gets to the point where Omar is desperate to make a move just to make a move, I'd rather him just sit tight and play for '09.

| Why? I know I don't want the Yankees to get him but the Sox and there fans are reaching Yankee fan levels of annoyance.

| Yeah everytime these big names pop up in relation to the Mets, it normally is, that's why I don't expect him to end up on the Mets at all. Unless he can't bear to live without Luis Castillo ![]()

| Senior Member | Could someone just sticky a Santana thread already? This guy is probably the best pitcher on the planet, but Fenway has been known to eat many a lefty for breakfast (Santana has a 6.89 ERA their in four starts). If you give him $150 million you'd better pray that his HR spike last year was an aberration, especially with the monster in left... And those names the Red Sox are proposing seem like "B' level names to me, especially compared to what they have to offer. They would have even more if they hadn't made the Gagne trade, but a ring makes that easier to swallow... |

I really don't want him on the Yanks or the Red Sox (their fans have become just as bad as Yankees fans)
