We keep hearing people speculate that for the Mets to get Johan Santana, they'll have to trade Jose Reyes. Well, if that's true, Santana is heading for some other destination, because teams that have inquired about Reyes' availability this winter, even in a monstrous deal, report that the Mets refuse to trade him, talk about him or even think about talking about him. So anyone who predicts he'll eventually be a Twin (or anything else) is "dreaming big-time," says an executive of one team.
DAMN!!!!

We're not sure why we got so many trade ideas from Mets fans. (Possibly because, if the season started tomorrow, their rotation would include Jason Vargas.)

I think it was a (failed) attempt at humor...

Would that rotation be a down grade from '07? I think I'd rather have a full year of Pedro as the #1 than Glavine.

Either way, If that's to be the 2008 rotation, we have to hope that luck is on our side. I dont think we get to the playoffs with that rotation. Let's hope that Omar realizes he has some work to do.

When the Mets win 83 games next year you are going to feel so foolish for having ever doubted them.

The Mets really do have 3/5ths of a nice rotation in Pedro/Maine/Perez.

It's a lot more than what many other teams have, but they still need more.

I'm actually surprised to see all of these "mets can only get santana if they trade reyes" stories. You'd think the NY media would make up some "Carp for Santana COULD HAPPEN!!!1!" rumor, just so they can bash Omar later for not pulling the trigger (a la "mets could have had zito for milledge").

Pedro seems to be the wild card that most people are ignoring.
