| I think the fact that George Jr. appears to suffer from chronic diarrhetic mouth is wonderful. Shouldn't Cashman be the team's sole mouthpiece regarding player acquisitions? I hope he pisses the Twins off by publicly disclosing these negotiations and they tell him to eff off. |

| About the only consolation in this is that the competition from the Red Sox, Mets and Angels will at least keep the Yankees honest. I would guess that they would have to say goodbye to at least two of their prized pitching prospects plus a starting CF. |

| Senior Member | Well they just finished "ripping off" Boras and Arod the tune of $300 million, which is even more considering that they don't have Hicks footing any of the bill anymore. They've already spent almost $400 million to keep a team that went out in four games together... Klap-trap had an article about Cashman being marginalized today, which is odd because I was under the impression that he had all of the necessary power detail dealies written into his contract. Looks like he either doesn't, or he doesn't have the balls to enforce them... |

Other than both being "heirs to the throne", what's the similarity? I sure haven't seen Jeff's name splashed all over the back pages showing off his power. And he is the COO.

| Even if the Yankees get Santana, their rotation would be Santana, Wang, and who? There's still a question of whether Chamberlain's dominance will carry over into the rotation, whether Mussina can rebound at all, and whether Pettite wants to return or not. In addition, the Yankees still need to find some relievers, especially with Chamberlain moving to the rotation.

| The Twins should be purged from baseball if they allow the Yankees to get Santana. The Yankees are in a downwards spiral, and adding Santana would just give them a guarenteed playoff spot for the next 5+ years... |
