| Yesterday, Mike and the Mad Dog said that the Yankee bullpen has been bad, but the Met bullpen has "been bad, too". Geez- could these guys be any dumber? Met starters: 10-4, 106 IP, 3.14 ERA, 1.21 WHIP, 75 Ks, 6 IP/start Met pen: 2-2, 51 IP, 1.76 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, 38 Ks BTW, both of those losses by the pen can be pegged to defensive lapses... I try to avoid those two knuckleheads, but sometimes you can't help but to overhear them... |

| Senior Member | Well feelings should buy the official scorer at Sunday's game a steak dinner for keeping his ERA in the stratosphere, but other than that they've been great. He has to get lefties out for this pen to be solid though, and an OPS against over 2.000 against them ain't gonna cut it... |

| Great stat heard on ESPN Radio this morning, regarding all the "on a pace" talk. A-Rod is "on a pace" for 126 HR, 306 RBI. Yankees are "on a pace" for 90 losses! ![]()

| I just need TB to win tonight. I don't care if they win another game the rest of the year, I want to see the Skanks in last place after 19 games.

Really. It would make the Comeback of '78 look like a cakewalk... No. I'd like them to win between 78-84 games and generally be a non-entity.

| While M&MD exaggerate the state of the Mets bullpen, probably to attract some callers, they have not been as good as the numbers show, IMO. I have nothing bad at all to say about Wagner and Feliciano. However, A) Heilman has hardly been used and looked shaky at best in his 6 innings of work - the two together make me wonder whether his tendinitis is an ongoing thing, though I hope this is a minor, random slump; B) Schoeneweis has been wild and it's not like his track record suggests he's some terrific pitcher waiting to revert to usual standards. C) Burgos is exactly as advertised - great stuff, but extremely wild with no clue how to pitch. IMO, he belongs in AAA. D) Sele is never used, but he's been decent during his 3 or 4 outings all year. E) Joe Smith has been unbelievably good, but we should all probably be slow to "rely" on someone with 10 major league innings. F) Mota is not the answer when he returns. He's been terrible for years outside of his two "enhanced" months with the Mets in 2006. The Mets bullpen has not really been exposed yet because the starters are going 7 innings fairly often and because the offense has really been putting the games away. And while it's still a good bullpen, probably better than most, there's still a lot of questions to be answered. This pen is not or has not been as good as the under-2 ERA so far would suggest.

| i was listening to them on my way to class last week.. goodness they still are terrible and so blatently just looking to rile people, and its to the point now that they even make it obvious when mike makes a sarcastic gesture towards russo for making a ridiculous comment that'll piss everyone off |
