Default Some Met news amidst all the skank talk

Marlon, Babe, Castro, Easley, Green and LoDuca have all filed for FA.

I'd look to bring back LoDuca, Castro and Marlon for a year each. No 2 or 3 year deals for any of these guys. Offer the Babe arb and adios to Green and Easley.

GET THE PIECE OF CRAP McGimpy OFF MY TEAM NOW!!!!!

The McGimpy does most things upside down: eats, sleeps (an average of 23 hours per day), mates, and gives birth. Because of the McGimpy's upside down life, many of the McGimpy's internal organs (liver, stomach, spleen, pancreas) are in different positions from other mammals. McGimpy sometimes lets out a cry or hissing sound.

During the rare times the McGimpy goes down to the ground (such as to change trees for food), it moves very slowly.

Green is also an insurance policy at first when Delcrappo sucks and/or gets hurt.

As a solid backup and part time player, you could do worse than Green. He has to take a pay cut but I kinda like Greenie.

Spring invite, if nothing else.

I think Omar is going to have to re-work the bench as well...

Marlon is probably the only given, no-brainer to return.

I don't think the Mets want him back. They will have to end up trading for a catcher, as there really isn't anyone in the FA market worth overpaying for.

Marlon yes.

Castro maybe

IMO, much to surprise, Omar is going to take a holding pattern with Castillo. Why rush things? I don't think people will be kicking down Castillo's door, and why would Omar bid against himself.

I don't think Castillo is a such a sure thing (re-sign) as many here are hoping....

Yup. That's not to say he didn't do a good job with the bench last year though. With the exception of Franco and Conine (who was only there because Easley got hurt) I think our bench was pretty good.

I don't know exactly who is out there and available that would fit this bill, but I really would like for the Mets to have some semblance of one power bat off the bench.

when the season ended that seemed to be etched in stone but I think the Met stance is softening somewhat and LoDuca really wants to be a Met. I really dont see what the problem is. Unless LoDuca is making outrageous demands bringing him back should be a no brainer.

the fact that he's a jerk and he stinks is probably an overwhelming obstacle

what are you basing that on, I have not heard a single person in the Met organization even attempt to make the Mets interested in having him back as a decoy option which would at worst make sense as you approach other free agents or trades, if the Mets are even remotely interested they would make him an offer they could live with between now and November 13.

Lo Duca wants to return, but Mets brass, while not ruling out a return, hopes to instead acquire a catcher via trade.
