Default First official annoying WATP, FA action, & hypothetical Mets lineup of the offseason

Mets Trade Humber, Milledge, Heilman, Carp and Pelfrey for Santana.

Sign Yorvit Torrealba

Re-sign Castillo

Re-Sign Alou

sign Silva

Sign Jeremy Affeldt

Sign Linebrink

sign cocksuckee fukudome

Rotation

Santana
Pedro
Maine
Perez
Silva

Lineup

Reyes SS
Castillo 2B
Beltran CF
Wright 3B
Delgado 1B
Alou LF
Fukudome RF
Torrealba C

Pen

Linebrink
Wagner
Affeldt
Feliciano
Shoensuck
Sanchez

Bench

Endy
Gomez
Gotay
DeFeces
M. Anderson
Easley

There is nothing better than getting a WATP, multiple FA signings, and the traditional lineup that will never happen ala MLB2K style all in ONE POST!

Actually, I think these should be a sticky so that there aren't a million of these type of posts like there are every offseason.

I don't think the mets will be able to land a big pitcher. This is not the lineup I want but I say the opening day line-up looks like this:

Reyes - SS
Lugo - 2b
Wright - 3B
Beltran - CF
Alou -LF
Delgado -1B
Ramon Hernandez - C
Lastings - RF
Maine - P (Pedro will have minor setback & willl miss the first couple of weeks of the season).

The O's will acquire Tejada & dump lugo onto the mets. The mets will get Ramon Hernandez in the same deal & move him to 2b & will give up Humber.

I really think we will be a fourth place team next year.

Wild A$$ed Opening Day 2008 (No A-Rod, as he follows Torre to Chavez Ravine)

New Mets: Orlando Hudson (3 year deal), Ramon Hernandez, Bartolo Colon (cheap deal), Scott Linebrink (2 year deal, Kerry Wood (cheap deal)

Mets will wait out Santana situation. Santana will join the Mets on June 30, 2008...

Reyes, SS
Hudson, 2B (D'Backs do not offer arbi. Omar snags him. Castillo limps...err walks.)
Beltran, CF
Wright, 3B
Delgado, 1B
Alou, LF
Milledge, RF
Hernandez, C
Pitcher

Rotation

Martinez
Maine
Perez
Colon
Humber/Pelfrey

Bullpen (NOT counting on Sanchez)

Wagner
Linebrink
Wood (signed to cheap deal)
Felicano
Sosa (long man)
Schoenweis

Note: Smith will being season in AAA.

Bench (best they can do for the time being)

Marlon Anderson
Ruben Gotay
Endy Chavez
Damion Easley
Ramon Castro

I like how my rotation is palindromic if you take the first letter of the last names.

the O's will acquire a player they already have? Duquette left the scene of that crime, did he not?

I just saw this crazy talk:

Red Sox re-sign Lowell and then sign A-Rod for SS. Needing a salary dump, they send ManRam, Lugo and Craig Hansen to the Mets for Milledge, Pelfrey and Carp.

Mets get their RF, 2B, and bullpen help.

Many here don't want Manny Ramirez at Shea.

Julio Lugo is a POS. For that I'd just re-sign Castillo...

Manny is not going anywhere, and I don't see A-Rod going to Boston...

Agreed... but it's not as if the Mets were in first place for 130+ games on accident either.

I can understand saying 2nd place or even 3rd if Philly and Atlanta make big moves.. but 4th? Suddenly the Marlins have gotten better than the Mets?
