what makes you think they have NO money to spend, they are going to let Jones and his $14M salary go along with the $9M they just moved in Renteria.

that is no small chunk of change, with new ownership coming in, but it will take a while to gauge what their threshold will be, if anything they are likely going to try and keep Mark T, but that remains to be seen if Boras will break his "rules".

The Braves biggest issue is they have not developed any pitching internally to replace the innings and wins that Maddux and Glavine gave them for a dozen years.

Renteria was the biggest pain in the arse in that lineup IMO. He was only due $6 million next year after the Sox money, then $8 million in 2009 if they picked up his option. We'll see what they do with the money, but I don't fear Escobar nearly as much...

So now Reyes has a chance to be the third-best SS in the NL East next year. Cool.

23mil per to play with Tex, Chipper, Franceour... and absolutely NO one else. Sign me up. That's the Rangers team he continually took to last place.

If they do, that increases the chances of our being able to sign a certain FA 1Bman at the end of '08.
