| under the METSSC plan Wright moves to 1st and Arod is signed to play 3rd. Castillo is offered arb(no multiyear deal for gimpy) and the infield is set.

| Remember when the Red Sox were all after Alex Rodriquez? Remember how they had a deal all stitched up but the union would not allow the contract to be restructured? Remember how Boston lost out, had to walk away and the Yankees got Alexander Emanuel Rodriquez? Remember how Boston has won 2 world series in the last 4 years after going winless for 86 years? Yeah...lets get ARod because he just drips in championship aura. |

Then we will all be subjected to your sloth and your "get that piece of crap Wright/AROD off "my" team RIGHT NOW bullshit. The 24+1 term has never been more true than with AROD. Whether you like it or not, this team has a good core of youth and a good mix of veterans. The team can absolutely get better and it can do it without AROD, especially without AROD.

For fantasy baseball this is a great move. No doubt. But bringing him in, because there is nothing "apparently" better to do is just silly.

| Normally, I agree with most of your baseball views, but somehow Im missing something. Get me to the post season and then Ill worry about that. I dont see how having AROD hinders improving the team in other areas, especially in middle relief where guys don't tend to make a lot of money. Also, getting a huge bat like AROD to replace Delgado's role that was absent all year, and may even allow us to deal Delgado for a solid middle reliever. You can't build for the post season if you can't get there. |

| I thought we wanted to jetison Lo Duca? Also, I'd like to point out that I'm kicking Carlos Silva's ass 3 to naught.

A-Rod did quite well during the regular season in all sorts of "clutch" situations, he had to with those stats. If you want to argue the point about the post season, yeah, he's had some stinkers since the last 4 games of the '04 ALCS, but it still seems like too small of a sample size to be concerned about. Not that I'm entirely advocating aquiring him. I'd only be for it if the Wilpons are willing to allow operations regarding the budget to remain unrestricted afterwards as well as acknowledge the need to fix the issues with the team.
