Default Carlos Silva

I think he is a FA this year. I think he would be a great addition to the rotation. Only 28 and decent numbers in the AL.

I just wonder if Omar would have any interest in a guy with his, um, qualifications.

Well, if Los Mets can't make it to the PS with three Carlos, maybe they can with four.

No. I've watched a ton of Twins games, esp. Twins vs Yankees. He always wilts and has never really shown he can win a big game or vs a big team. Always gets pounded. He's like a Trax, only a bit more talented. He would piss off a lot of fans here, I swear.

We need a pitcher that takes us to the next step. An impact pitcher. We have enough guys that won't win a big game or won't have plus stuff.

I agree. Enough of the 5th starter types.

Enough with the second-rate project pitchers.

Go for Silva, might as well as just bring Glavine back.

In all honesty I would have loved to have him 3-4 years ago. These days his E.R.A is nearly as bloated as he is.

Dont say that too loud. He might hear you and think you're serious.

Pass, he wouldn't be an upgrade in any slot but #5 and he'll command #2 salary.

IMO the only # that counts in the rotation is #1. That's the ace, the stopper, the guy you pitch every 5 days even if you skip someone else. All the others are slotted in based on performance. As of now, I see Pedro as the #1, followed by Maine and Perez. After that, the slots are up for grabs.

I don't know much about Silva, but looking at his #s it seems like only '06 was bad, and he recovered in '07. If Glavine isn't back, it's Pelfrey and Humber, with outside shots for Mulvey, Bostick and Duque. I wouldn't go overboard for Silva, but he looks like he might be worth a shot at less than 3 yrs, with under $8 mil per.

Everything he said, X 10. Silva is a bastard. A big fat batting practice throwing bastard.
