Default Castillo Gets the Knee Surgery

The one BRD has been pushing for!

Per Metsblog:
Quote:
In the Daily News, Adam Rubin writes that free-agent 2B Luis Castillo underwent knee surgery and will be 100 percent by spring training.
Rubin adds: “The Mets are expected to make a strong push to re-sign him.”

Fine by me. Good top of the order put the ball in play spray hitter, great defense, good baserunner, hard-nosed player.

If he's 100%, its a no-brainer.

Preliminary reports suggest it was the greatest knee surgery in the history of medicine.

See? Was that so bad?

LOL.

Now re-signing him to that 2 years + option that Bill suggested makes sense.

Also in that blurb is the reiteration of their intent not to re-sign LoDuca.

Now, don't get me wrong...LoDuca is 35, sucked most of last season and is a loudmouth, but who are they going to replace him with? It's not like there are a bevy of good catchers out there...

The Mets' Luis Castillo had his troublesome right knee cleaned during a recent surgical procedure, and should be 100% by Jan.1. The Mets are expected to make a strong push to re-sign him, although they will wait to at least explore what second basemen are available via trade.
It bring my Ramon Hernandez and Brian Roberts to Shea WATP back to life...lol.

Is it true Castillo performed the surgery on himself between Winter League innings?

Castillo would be a good option at second base if he is healthy.
