Ive read that if the skanks dont keep ARod they will make a play for Miquel Cabrera(that could actually end up being an upgrade) and this morning I just read that the Marlins would be more apt to trade Cabrera for pitching then to deal Willis. Soooooo anyone think if ARod opts out they deal one of their big 3 for Cabrera?

first off I said he "could" be. Cabrera is 8 years younger and has career OBA and SLG%s of .388 and .542 compared to ARod's .389 and .578. Very similar and Cabrera has never played in a hitters park. People are afraid Cabrera will eat himself out of a hall of fame career but he can hit with anyone in baseball.

I say they take a page out of their late 90s playbook and give the marlins whichever ones that will never amount to anything.

if the mets could only hype their prospects the way the yanks hype theirs... sometimes it seems that if the mets had any actual superstar prospects, they'd still be worthless because everybody in baseball assumes this team is clueless when it comes to developing youth.
