| That was actually a good read, and I did get the "Gee, Davey" reference. I really hope Bobby Valentine doesn't go to the Yankees - he is my favorite manager and I'd hate to see him get thrown into the mess that is the Yankees right now. He really got the best out of players who loved to play for him, and he means a great deal to Japanese baseball right now (he's a god over there). If the Mets went ahead and fired Willie, Bobby V would have been my first choice to have him come back and hopefully lead the Mets to a World Series championship. |

I love BV, but would be a skeptic if Randolph were fired and he was a candidate to replace him. Maybe things would be different this time in terms of the talent pool he'd be given and the support of the GM. | |

| Obviously this would be a huge pipe dream (no Grant Roberts jokes), but if we had Bobby V at the helm and his ego got along with Peterson and Jaramillo, we'd have a plethora of talent leading the Mets. I'd love to see Jaramillo as the Mets hitting coach, as he is supposedly the "Dr. Rick" of batters. |

| When Dr Rick has real "talent" to work with, he's been more than good at his job. John Maine, Oliver Perez, Heilman (minus feelings), Feliciano, even Sosa was solid for a good while until the league remembered he was Jorge Freakin Sosa. He is absolutely not going to make headcases into cool and collected individuals and he is absolutely not going to be able to make El Duque/Wagner/Glavine/Sele/Pedro any younger. What I would like to see is getting some guaranteed arms in the pen and less "projects". There are 2 projects that Peterson should be investing most of his time in, the development of Mike Pelfrey and Phil Humber and the continuing development of Maine and Perez. |
