| Perhaps it's just post-collapse panic talking...but I think it'd be wise to try to move him while we can still get some value for him. He's a complete mess at the plate, and I don't think he's going to be able to straighten it out next year while dealing with the inevitable pressure that will follow this year's collapse. I've got a bad feeling that, if he returns, he's gonna struggle early, the fans will get on him, his attitude will get worse...and he's gonna head straight into the crapper. He's still a hot enough commodity at this point that he could be part of a deal that would land us the pitching we need to improve this team. Pull the trigger, Omar! Yeah...like that's gonna happen. ![]() |

| you dont give him away but use him as ace bait. We always here about players not being able to play in NY well it is gonna be really tough for sh!thead to bounce back from this.

| No WAY do they look to deal Reyes. You just have to hope he bounces back... I would, however, be very interested to hear what the Twins want for Santana if they decide they can't resign him. I'd give up 2 out of Martinez/Gomez/Milledge plus Humber and Pelfrey for Santana. |

I'd move Reyes in a deal for a bonafide ace. That's it.

Sign (I feel dirty) A-Rod and move him back to SS. Once Delgado is gone, move Wright to 1st. | |

| I cant see any scenario that I would want Reyes to go. Sure, I hate him right now, and his work ethic was moronic, but its not enough to want him off this team. I still feel he will improve with age. The ONLY way I can see it happening, is if someone makes us an offer thats simply too good to refuse..... and even then I think hard about it. |

| You really think Wilpon is about to spend 300 million ? I cant see it. At any rate, we made that mistake with Blowtran, and I sure as heck dont want to see the Mets do the same with A-Rod. Once A-Rod gets his $$$, he will lay down too. What's any of these guys incentive once they sign the big deal ? It's just another thing that is terribly wrong with baseball. |

| I agree, only if it can net an ace. Here is an option that I think might work. Go out and get a guy for the bench who would start on most major league teams. No one frontline, but a nice guy who would do nicely off the bench and just play with the idea that he'd be a good starter. Certaint teams used to do that in order to kick players in the ass. And when you have a 120 million dollar payroll, yes you can afford to do so. |
