Default How about Valentine?

Looking to 2008, how about bringing back Valentine. Worst part about this nightmare of 2007 is the effects it will have on 2008. To avoid the carry over we definitely need to clean house. Change the atmosphere.

Bring back Valentine!

I would be SHOCKED if Willie is fired! He was just extended. He should be fired but because of economics he won't. He's not a good manager. This has to be one the the biggest collapses in MLB history. Changes need to made to the team. We need an ace. We need a closer and a set up man. We need a new catcher.

Shooter's right. Willie's going nowhere. He's also right that this has been one of the biggest collapses in MLB history. And to add insult to injury, the Yankees (once 14.5 games out of first) are the AL Wild Card team. Lovely.

IMHO, the Mets' most screaming need is pitching. And handling a pitching staff also happens to be (again IMHO) one of Willie's biggest weaknesses.

This does not bode well for 2008, boys...

Bobby Valentine is not the savior of the Met franchise.

Why not. He is kind of like Billy Martin was, for the first few years he would definitely turn it around before everyone got sick of him again.

his act will grow old real fast. A lot of the players will grow to hate him. It'll be 2002 all over again.

Right, because the love the players have for Silly- Willy has really taken us places.

As Tony Soprano said while spitting in rage at Christopher:

"You may not love me BUT YOU WILL RESPECT ME!!!!!

That's all fine and well when you were making 50 grand a year back in the old days. These guys are millionaires and don't have to take that crap. It's very easy to demand a trade or not play hard for your manager if you hate him.

They played hard for Willie in '06.

They of LESS talent played hard for BV in '99 and 2000. What's your point?

Ladies and gentlemen, say hello to the first-place New York Mets.

Well, tied for first place in the NL East with the Phillies at 52-44. But with a 10-game winning streak, and with the way the Mets rallied for a 10-8 win over the Reds last night, it seems like only a matter of time before the Mets leave the rest of the division in the rearview mirror.
You ****ing knew it after reading that.
