| Hopefully Wagner smoothed that out with Randolph and Peterson. There's plenty of time to point fingers in the offseason, but IMO, that sounds more like general frustration that anything. I wonder what Wagner was asked, if anything, that prompted that statement. I'll hold out some hope that the statement was delivered in some slightly different context, but that's a stretch. As dumb as Willie is, it's not necessarily Willie's fault that Wagner and others are "throwing four innings a night."

| Starters havent been getting it done. Period. I defend Peterson because I think he is good at what he does on a pitcher by pitcher basis. At the end of the game, Willie has to make the decision. Now as far as Wagner is concerned, he's usually a straight shooter, but he must realize that his bad back probably cost this team at least 2 key games in this stretch. I'm sure he's talking with a heavy heart, since he is a leader on the team and in the pen, what he said sounded protective of the other guys who are not getting it done. He should keep it shut for now. |

| he is protecting no one but himself, he dropped a fu(king egg this September too and now he wants to begin CYA, fu(k him, and it is less the going after Willie and Peterson, they are big guys with big pay checks, they can deal, going after the fans that have stood behind his back is just shitty, anyone here long enough knows I do not advocate booing, but that it is also the way the ball bounces in New York, this is a dipshit thing to do at this stage and Wagner has done this in Houston and Philadelphia, at some point you have to wise up and suck up your shortcomings. |

| How far the mighty have fallen. Hickboy was an automatic save through 3/4 of the season until the wheels fell off. Just shut your trap until the season is over.

| Billy is probably wrong in getting on Peterson/Randolph in the press but it appears Billy has been trying to talk to them for two years and they pretty much laugh him off. Last year Billy argued on behalf of Heath Bell to get some chances but Willie would just laugh at the suggestion. Looks like Billy was right on that. If Willie grates on us fans with his "all-knowing-manage by the gut" attitude, then I woud bet that it grates on players as well. How many times has a suggestion been made to Willie and he just smirks at it and later find out the suggestion was good. Willie is an improvement over ARt Howe but that is like saying Roseanne Barris an improvement over Momma Cass. Both of them are dogs..... |

| From todays NY Post: http://www.nypost.com/seven/09302007..._not_a_lot.htm Not really a surprise but Wagner needs to shut the **** up. If you didn't completely suck the last month none of this would matter.

| I question some of Willie's moves sometimes but his hand has been kind of forced a lot of times this season particularly of late when all the starters only lasted 5 innings a night max. Not to mention that nobody had any idea who could be trusted in any situation this past month because all of them sucked so much that you never knew what to expect. And Wagner needs someone to "tell him emotions"? Get the **** out of here. Dumb hick.

| I did not, saw it on my daily surfing through the NY papers. I have tried to avoid Philaphans the last day or so. I will go there afterwards to see how it all settles out. Sorry I missed the other thread, where is it?
