Default september turning point...

let me start by saying i share the pain we all feel watching this collapse. im not fully confident that they will pull this thing off but at the same time they are much better than they have been playing as of late. i wont give up on them until they are actually eliminated.

with that said, does anyone feel like the turning point of this whole collapse was that game against the marlins? i said right after the game that "this is the type of game that turns a season around and makes everything go down hill." forget the philly sweep, they still had a 3.5 game lead and had played well before that series. after getting a huge rally capped off by anderson's triple in the 9th, the game was blown and lost in the 10th. for some reason that game feels like the turning point and the catalyst for this whole disaster.

just my thoughts...wanted to post it i guess

Somebody should write a short story about how winning the lottery gets you more than you bargained for. You could call it "The Postseason Ticket Lottery."

The turning point was when Willie ****ing Randolph told the whole team, ESPECIALLY the bullpen, that he didn't have any faith in them when he brought in Billy Wagner for his first 2 inning save attempt in 7 years.

Which "Wags" promptly blew.....

The turning point might have been when Willie benched Reyes.

That thought has occurred to me as well. But in terms of a game that was a turning point is concerned, I insist that it was the bottom of the 8th in that Friday night game at Shea vs the Phillies when we had Gomez on third and one out with a tied score and Castillo batting. The squeeze should have been on. Instead, the idiot let Castillo swing away. He struck out, we ended up losing the game in extra innings and the tone was set for the Philly sweep.

Horrible.
