| "Your Season Has Come".... anyone think that God Himself got pissed off when they coined this marketing theme?? Has there ever been a more self important bunch of entitled losers assembled in the history of sports? These pricks came out of Spring Training, Hell - out of last November - expecting to be HANDED a World Series trophy this year, NEVER considering that they might not even make the playoffs. Enjoy your golf and deepsea fishing you pieces of crap.

| Agree 100%. This pretentious slogan bothered me from the get-go. And God KNOWS the Mets are the KINGS of dumb-azz schlocky slogans year after year. And it contoinues to this DAY, with them getting the Stadium ready NOW for the playoffs. They already re-did the signage, put in some new concessions and added the extra VIP seats. And I dont want to hear they "had to" do this. They never did before. ****ing pretentious bastards. GOD, I ****ing HATE this franchise sometimes. |

| An incredible sense of entitlement and complaceny has infected this team almost all year. And those of us who sensed it early were ridiculed. They mustered enough oomph to sweep St. Louis to open this miserable season, but it seems all that accomplished was it verified their own lofty opinion of themselves, and they decided they could indeed go on and off cruise control all season. At some point they fell asleep and gradually began to drive off the road. Now they are wheels up in a ditch. Great job. |

| That goes squarely on Jeff Wilpon and David Howard, all the dofus marketing stuff is their baby. I agree it is an obnoxious slogan and always had been, and it is beyond irony at the moment that those stupid "Your Postseason has Come" spots keep playing right after another relief pitcher is brought out from embarrasment. Frankly, that is why Jeff Wilpon was a little pissy last week in that he and David Howard are getting grilled in the media/marketing community for their queer slogan YET again. Nobody needs a slogan to come to the ballpark, they simply do not get it. People did not come out in 1985 to "Catch the Rising Stars" they came out to see the most incredible phenomenen to happen to Shea. And it when they did they also saw Strawberry, Carter, Hernandez, Darling, Wilson, Backman, etal. No matter what slogan these two loons come up with it will be twisted into a pretzel of embarrasment, but this one was the worst ever. |

| Whatever. None of this has anyhting to do with the fact that the pitching (except Pedro & Perez) has sucked for the last 2 weeks. If Smith/Sosa/Mota/Heilman/Wagner/Glavine etc. could throw worth a damn, we'd be agreeing with the slogan.

| I dunno... the Phils and their fans have been pretty arrogant themselves since like December. That's when they declared the division race over because they had Freddy Garcia, and who the fark was John Maine or Oliver Perez. It's been all sorts of other things since then, but the underlying "we're inherently better than you no matter what happens" attitude has always been there. I don't see them getting punished. |

| Super Moderator | There should be NO slogan next season. If there is one... "The 2008 New York Mets: Your Humble Pie Has Come"

It just smelled of arrogance (off a mere division title!) that some of us feared was permeating the organization...

| All I'm saying is if the pitching had held up vs. the Nationals, the slogan could be "Eat Sh!t & Die!" and it wouldn't have mattered. A slogan did not blow this thing. Bad pitching did.

| Charlie. Have you noticed yet that something beyond some "bad pitching" ain't quite right with this team? Open your eyes, man. It's ok to look at it. It ain't gonna bite you, and they could still win by some crazy fluke. |

| And besides, if that were so, how come that doesn't apply to the Yankees? If it were all about being arrogant, the Yankees would be on a par with the SF Giants in the longest-between-Series-wins dept.
