At some point they fell asleep and gradually began to drive off the road. Now they are wheels up in a ditch. Great job.
Where's NPG at?

I said it in another thread. Stuffy corporate arrogance is in the Yankees blood. The Mets were built on a scrappy blue collar we can do this mentality. Trying to be the Yankees is the absolute wrong way to go. Nobody's the Yankees. And if we wanted the Yankees, we wouldn't be f*cking Mets fans.

Has there ever been a more self important bunch of entitled losers assembled in the history of sports? These pricks came out of Spring Training, Hell - out of last November - expecting to be HANDED a World Series trophy this year, NEVER considering that they might not even make the playoffs.

Enjoy your golf and deepsea fishing you pieces of crap.
Its strange how last year's team had so much "chemistry" and in general seemed more likable and fun to watch...but it's pretty much the same core group of players. I know floyd was a good clubhouse guy but its hard to believe he was making THAT much of a difference.
Did the loss of Bradford and Oliver make that much of a difference in our pen? I have to pin much of this debacle on the pen. There have been games were players have gotten big, key hits only to have the ****ing pen blow it ( I can think of 2 Marlon Anderson come back PHs that were ruined by the pen.
Maybe last year's success made this team feel entitled...I don't know...but whatever it is...it sure is frustrating!

Lets do the possible 2008 slogans right here:

"Watch Reyes Watch 2 Pitches, per at bat"
"The Team, The Funk And The Big Willie Style"
"Just Fast Forward To 2009"
"We Are More Than The Phillies Punching Bag"
"At Least We Were Good Against The Marlins"
"We Were Entitled in '07, But Wont Be Complacent In '08"

Core? I'd say that most of the 40 man roster was here last year.
