Default The f(_)ckstick Fish...

Ummm, when did it be ok for a team about 100 games out of a playoff spot to HOLD BACK A PITCHER to face a team fighting for a playoff spot?

Dontrelle Willis was held back from tonight's start to face the Mets tomorrow. In his place, Daniel Barone is facing the Braves this evening.

He may have a bad season, but he's also had very good success in his career against the Mets. Besides being a dick, what is the reasoning for holding him back?

I'm not worried about the Mets offense scoring runs right now (don't say that very often). I'm more worried about the relievers holding whatever lead they are given late in the game.

I said this yesterday for whatever reason it seems like teams don't like the Mets. Cards sit Puljos, Nationals play like it is there world series, now fish hold back Willis.

During the rare times the McGimpy goes down to the ground (such as to change trees for food), it moves very slowly.

Yeah...you get the feeling that if it was physically possible, the Cards would clone Pujols and have him in the lineup twice against us.

And I said this yesterday, why would anyone "like" them, that is just silly. Did you really expect the Nationals to roll over and die.

I do not know the Marlins coaching staff or front office from a hole in the wall, but if they actually held Willis back to pitch against the Mets, so be it, in my experience teams that make decisions like that usually get burned.

Besides, I am more worried about Willis bat, not his arm.

It would be nice to see the Mets go strong and make that came irrelevant anyhow.

But it is quasi interesting that if things continue to play out as they have and they can at least open up another game back on the lead, next Thursday night against the Cardinals could be the opportunity to end this water torture experiment.

I know Willis hasn't been great, but that's been the case for nearly two seasons and it just seems like the Mets STILL have trouble when facing him. Unless I'm not recalling a game this season that they've gotten to him.

This is the way it works. Teams out of the race LOVE to play spoiler and go balls-out to do so. Look at how the Nats just played. Its nothing "personal" against the Mets.

Dontrelle Willis was held back from tonight's start to face the Mets tomorrow. In his place, Daniel Barone is facing the Braves this evening.

The Mets have faced Willis once this year, according to Ultimate Met Database and kicked the piss out of him.

Daniel Barone fairly handcuffed the Mets for 4.67 IP in the infamous "Hanley Ramirez" game.

Well good then. Let's hope Dontrelle doesn't dial it up a notch tonight, or hit any 3 run homers.
