Default IF Willie.....................

Is fired..... who replaces him?

(I know, it could never happen and I should be concentrating on THIS year... but right now, it hurts to do so....)

GET THE PIECE OF CRAP McGimpy OFF MY TEAM NOW!!!!!

The McGimpy does most things upside down: eats, sleeps (an average of 23 hours per day), mates, and gives birth. Because of the McGimpy's upside down life, many of the McGimpy's internal organs (liver, stomach, spleen, pancreas) are in different positions from other mammals. McGimpy sometimes lets out a cry or hissing sound.

During the rare times the McGimpy goes down to the ground (such as to change trees for food), it moves very slowly.

I can't wait to see the string of references to the 1986 Mets. We have one, lets keep em coming.

Julio Franco.

Just kidding. I meant John Franco.

But seriously, I don't know the whole list that's available. But what I would look for in a new manager is someone who is smart tactically in games and who preferably has a fair amount of major league experience. Enough of these "good clubhouse," "father figures" like Howe and Randolph.

Either Joe Girardi or Mike Hargrove. Hargrove was pushed out of Seattle because Ichiro hated him. I'm sure he'd be willing to come back to the right team, and hopefully the Mets are the right team.

What has Hargrove done to deserve another job? The guy has done nothing but fail miserably since he was fired by the Indians years ago (anyone could have won with that team)

You may be right -- admittedly, I don't know all that much about him aside from the winning in Cleveland. He did help turn around the M's ship, though, right? That has to count for something. After all, while anyone could've won with those Indians teams, I'm not sure there's a manager out there who could've won with those early 2000's Baltimore teams and the Mariners of the past few years.

I wonder if Tom Kelly would be interested in returning to managing. He had a very good reputation managing some terrible Twins rosters.

You guys are missing the boat, it would be Gary Carter. The Wilpons love Carter and Minaya has a great relationship with him. Carter is also familar with a lot of the Mets minor leaguers. He would make the most sense.
