Default Positive Thoughts

For right now:

1) The way last night unfolded (between Ronnie ****ing Belliard and the top of the ninth) was so absurd (as if by design), this whole thing has to turn around soon.
2) You can't always get what you want, but sometimes you get what you need (see: White Sox, September 2005; Cardinals, September 2006).

For if they blow it:

1) The Mets will truly seize the Brooklyn Dodgers legacy Wilpon's been chasing for 25 years.
2) You like booing? If so, you're in luck, because next year you're going to hear the **** booed out of the Mets all season long. It will be epic.
3) It will be fun to watch Phillies fans try to maintain their culture of victimhood after essentially winning the sports lottery.
4) A whole new culture of victimhood for us! Yay!
5) A very... interesting... offseason.

There is nothing positive for a Mets fan that lives in the Philly market right now.

And now the Braves are only 5.5 games back. The Mets could actually finish 3rd this year.

McGimpy sometimes lets out a cry or hissing sound.

During the rare times the McGimpy goes down to the ground (such as to change trees for food), it moves very slowly.

The sick thing is my mind went there this morning too. I am not exaggerating when I say I am actually nauseous this AM.

This makes me happy in a strange way because if THIS is the worst thing going on in my life, then I am doing ok!

Does anyone feel the Mets can start a winning streak again, and get to the playoffs ? I know I feel it can still happen, but it's so hard to find a positive word on here. I know it looks bad, but let's all not jump off the bridge yet.

The big problem is, I still feel we limp in to the playoffs, but I cant see this team getting past round 1, if this is all they can give us. Either way, when its all said and done, I have a feeling that 2007 will be another disappointment, and this team needs major changes for 2008.

They need major changes regardless of what transpires this season.

Yes, I do. The Mets schedule is still very easy.

Furthermore, even if they go .500 the rest of the way, you could look at the two Phillies/Cardinals games as an indictment on the quality of the Phillies - they barely hung on in both games to a lousy team that's already folded it in.

Agreed.

Also, this makes me realize how horrible it must have been to be a Brooklyn dodgers fan. My god, I feel for Bill who has to go through this crap AGAIN, 50 years later...

Meanwhile, the Mets lost two games to a AA team.

But in typical Mets fashion, watch them win the WS and do nothing this off-season, as it will be all about "I told you so.."
