Default This Team is so Soft it's Sickening

I hate to use cliches like M and MD but this team has absolutely no guts, no balls. They are a bunch of pussies. Talented? Hell Yes. Wright is a great player, Reyes is very good.

They're a weak team. They will crumble under pressure every time.

If you honestly think this team is going to win a Championship this year I don't know what to tell you.

I really don't know how this can be fixed

I know. Firing Willie isn't going to make them grow a pair of balls.

You can't pin tonight as a team loss for once. Maine isn't Brian Lawrence either. They responded in the first inning about as well as you could possibly ask for, the pitching just pissed it away...

Maine really choked tonight. Just an awful performance when all they needed was mediocrity.

It can only be fixed by getting rid of quite a bit of this roster. The Mets need to have players who care and want to win, and play as if it mattered. The Mets have a bunch of jokers right now. Say what you want about the Phillies and Rollins and Company, but they have more desire and fight than our Mets by far. Does it get them to the playoffs ? I sure hope not, but when it mattered the most, they brought their A game, and we brought nothing.

I still feel they can turn it around and get to the playoffs, but the 2007 Mets have many things, terribly wrong with them. No matter what happens, this team needs a great deal of change for 2008.

The Mets biggest problem is in their heads. They are a weak mental team, which allows them to swing to all kinds of lows. I don't believe they prepare enough for games. Pitchers don't seem to have a clue how to attack opponents. Batters are not prepared and patient to wait out opponent's pitchers. It seems like they show up to the games like it is some kind of beer-league softball game, and rely on someone jacking a couple balls out of the park in order to win. The poor pitching, batting and fielding is really mind boggling at the major league level.
