I'd also love to hear more about his GENIOUS move of Duke/DiFeces, then DiFeces to Castro. I am still scratching my head over that one. Did he happen to comment on it ?

A reporter asked him about that and he acted like it was a stupid question saying something like "we have enough catchers right now, no big deal."

Are you kidding me?

The real reason why he did it, or at least what I assume, is he was hoping to get two innings out of Sosa but then he sucked so he realized after the inning he wanted to pull him thus negating the need for the double switch. Still should have used 1b to swap out and not the catcher.

Well, I didn't see any footage but I found some good quotes from metsblog.com

David & Willie believe in the team and all should be ok. So, that's nice.

You hear that, Smuckers? The Mets are gonna be alright, boy! (thanks to KOQ's avatar).

I am so tired of Willie saying "no big deal". I wonder if he'll say that if they miss the postseason due to his ineptitude and the team's sucktitude.

Yes, he should have swapped out Green and or Milledge when the bench includes Defelice, Alomar and Castro.

Last nights game much like Sundays and Saturdays was lost by incompotent reaction to situations baseball players should be familiar with. I am assuming that the Character and Sosa admired Heilman's ball handling skills against the Phillies and decided it should be a unit thing out of the pen.

But no, the catcher who everyone is prepared to pack up his bags for him anyhow being double switched is the problem.

There were so many problems in the game last night that my head was spinning like Linda Blair. The Mets could certainly get jobs with Ringling Brothers during the offseason.

I was hoping he'd show some anger or annoyance after last nights disgrace. Instead we got the same old turn the page bullshit that he's been spewing since June.

LOL. That captures my reaction to the game last night perfectly. I was speaking in tongues that entire 6th inning.

Yup. I wonder how Willie will turn the page, IF the team doesnt make the playoffs. Whats his last press conference speech going to be like ? Are we going to hear such thought provoking quotes like "I liked their funk" and "It all happened so fast" ?.

Sure, he can point a lot of fingers at this team right now, but Willie needs to look in the mirror before he does any of that.

Rolls his eyes, makes the reporters feel like they are retarded for asking simple questions. The guy should man up. He doesnt have to go Ozzie Guillen on everyone, but facts are facts...they have been horrible this week.
