Default Is it possible?

A friend just asked: Is Willie still on the Yankee payroll?

Explain why he used Ishii so late into the 2005 season....

Explain his continued use of Mota...

Explain his starting Brian Lawrence after a three game losing streak....

Peterson has no say in any of this. It's all Willie...

Willie leaving certain guys in for the gut situations to see their response is one thing, but Lawrence is not even close to being on the post season roster. Why bother with him for as long as he did, when, he could have put Humber out there?

In fact, why couldnt Humber get the start? Is Lawrence's 3.1 innings of disaster anymore of a guarantee than anything Humber can do? This game was designed to be a loss just putting that 80 mph fastball throwing "journey man" out there.

And yet... when someone else puts a journeyman with an 80 MPH fastball up against us, we always crap the bed. Go figure.

Baseball is a funny and sad game at times.

Not true. They jumped all over Redding. Acta just had the good sense to yank the guy after 3 innings once the game was tied, knowing fully well that this game was going to be winable.

If Willie was Acta, Redding would have been out there until he was in a bases loaded 1 out jam....oh wait.

Just curious. What's the reaction if Humber has a Pelfreyesque start circa April '07?

I can't blame them for not using Humber. You can't expect him to come into a playoff race and give us a good start. I would have went with Pelfrey. This whole six man rotation thing is a joke. If Pedro, as much as I love him, is not ready to go on five days rest why is he back? How will that help us if we make the playoffs?

without question Lawrence was an odd choice given Pelfrey's availability, protecting Pedro is just not an option right now, but it has not helped that Hernandez keeps going Hudini when he is needed most, but in the end last night's game was lost by a series of sadly incompotent plays by the thirdbasemen (I know he is cute sexy blue and orange man, so he is teflon, but) Character, and Sosa.
