Default Anderson out

As per SportsNite, he went on "Bereavement Leave" after the game, which can be up to a week.

No word yet on whether they'll call up a replacement or activate Beltran.

Barring a miracle, Beltran won't be back tomorrow (based on what I've heard) and he'll probably sit out until Tuesday when they head back out on the road.

Unfortunately, I expect to see Ledee, though I would hope it would be Ambres.

It doesn't even pay to be a RELATIVE of a Mets OF.

Geez. Sorry to hear that.

Tough break with Marlon Anderson. Hope he is to use this time to mourn and be with his family and get back when he is ready to.

As for Beltran, hardly suprising that this pussy will be out another 5-7 days. Where are all the people that said when he went on the DL "That's ok, shut him down and he will be back for the last braves game".

Am I the only one that finds this uncalled-for?

Probably not, but I'm reasonably certain that Denny's line crossed the minds of at least a dozen other readers.

GET THE PIECE OF CRAP McGimpy OFF MY TEAM NOW!!!!!

The McGimpy does most things upside down: eats, sleeps (an average of 23 hours per day), mates, and gives birth. Because of the McGimpy's upside down life, many of the McGimpy's internal organs (liver, stomach, spleen, pancreas) are in different positions from other mammals. McGimpy sometimes lets out a cry or hissing sound.

During the rare times the McGimpy goes down to the ground (such as to change trees for food), it moves very slowly.

Ran into one of NYs trainers on the el in Chicago (he lives there so was actually going to his house after the game) when I was there this past weekend.

He said Beltran's injury really isn't that serious but the team was NOT going to rush him in any way. In any event, it doesn't matter that he missed the Braves series or even if he misses this series...the key is to have him healthy for the stretch run and aside from getting his oblique to heal, the time off is probably going to help his legs too.

Hopefully it helps his production.

LOL

I didn't think it was appropriate to be a wise-ass with the guy when he was nice enough to talk to me.

Perhaps slightly. I'd be more sympathetic if it was his mom, perhaps. I mean, no doubt that it's sad losing a grandparent. But if you can say you are a grandparent when you die, chances are you lived a pretty long life.

Anyway, my condolences.
