Default Willie ****in Harris...

those two catches he made today are going to swing this division to the Braves... I hate that I'm a Mets fan....

Oh, and thank you Willie for having Marlon Anderson out there.... that didn't cost us, huh?

Eh, who knows? Everyone thought last year after Endy's catch that we were going to the World Series. How'd that one work out?

There are still six more games with the Braves to be played, and 7 with the Phillies. All is not lost yet...

Nothing is lost, except one game.

Considering we are still up 4 in loss column all is definitely not lost.

Didn't we learn last season with Endy that one play, no matter how dramatic, means absolutely nothing in the long term?

We barely escaped last night. They barely escaped today.

Facing Smoltz and Hudson, the Mets won one game, and ALMOST won the other.

The Braves gained one game in the series, and time is ticking away. A sweep would have been horrible, and the Mets avoided that. The Braves really NEEDED to sweep to make a big dent, and they couldn't get it done, even when they were practically HANDED the opportunity.

As Bren said earlier in another thread... this Marlins series is much more important. They need to kick ass here while the Braves and Phillies are occupied with each other. If they can't win THAT series, there's something to worry about, because the Fish are in serious disarray, and the Mets need to take advantage of that.

Six games against the Braves is supposed to be a good thing? That just means they make up at least two games on us minimum.

They can't line up Smoltz and Hudson against them in every series... can they?

Seems like they have every time this year. Or was it just that Kyle Davies, Chuck James and Buddy Carlysle pitched like Hudson and Smoltz against the Mets?

The Braves have to go into Philly without Hudson and Smoltz. We'll see how powerful momentum in baseball can or can't be then (last night sure didn't seem to matter today).

For the most part, I'm feeling OK... "cautiously optimistic" would probably be the most accurate term. The Mets were lucky they didn't get swept, but they showed fight the past couple days, and the Braves are also lucky they didn't completely **** the bed the last two games.

The series is over, turn the page, Mets have to take advantage of facing the teams they face in the next few games.

So Philly sweeping the Braves would be a good thing too? Sooner or later we may have to actually acknowledge that there is team in Philly.

How exactly does a team pick up two games in a three game series? I'm pretty sure it's impossible...

You got us covered there in spades bro. Most of us can actually take it off the map, not because they are irrelevant, but we would just be stepping on your mantra.

If they continue taking two out of three every time the two teams play, they will gain two more games over the course of the final two series.

And if they enter each of those series more than 3 games out as they have all year they will end the season right were they are currently.

I know. I posted what I posted in response to Bren's question.
