Default Why should I not be worried?

Ok seriously. Why should this pathetic display not raise all kinds of red flags for any serious Mets fan? They have not come out to play in any of the series against the Braves the entire year. They look flat, the offense looks like they are in quick sand and the Braves are just crushing the ball. Why should I think any of the next two games would be any different?

Default Ranting

I must've shut this game off three times in disgust. I can barely watch them. They look as if they couldn't give a damn, win or lose. Reyes and Delgado laugh throughout; "hey it's only a game!" Moises Alou busts his butt out there. LoDuca hates to lose. Milledge plays with passion and reckless abandon. The rest seem listless.

The concentration level of the pitching staff is very low. None of them seem to be able to perform when they need to. Except for Glavine and Wagner who want a World Championship and know that now is the time. The others? Well, I don't know.

Here's what I want to happen. Seriously. I want the Mets to lose all three games to Atlanta. Not too far-fetched, is it? By next Friday, I want to see them in second place. Maybe then this team will wake up.

People might take you more seriously Nick if you had been spewing all of this nonsense while they were going 4-2 on the road against the top two teams in the Central.

I gave them credit for taking care of business on the road. But this game showed me all I needed to know about them. This is the biggest series of the year (I am sure most would agree with that) and they did not show up to play. This is inexcusable.

And in case you were wondering I don't give two shits if people I never met take me seriously on a message board.

I agree...I'd love to know who it was that keeps ****ing around with his threads, because it is complete BS. Just got back online and saw what's been going on (or at least got the gist of it)...

I'll look into it.

I wouldn't say they "did not show up to play." They had chances, two of which Alou pissed all over with his mirror-image DPs. It's not like they went down 6-0 and gave up (which we have seen all too much this year), they did at least attempt to fight back.

Win tomorrow and Thursday, and all is well. Hell, win one of the two and it's not that big a deal...

Winning one of three consistently against our biggest rival isn't ok. It sucks. Losers win one of three. Championship teams bury their rivals when they get the chance. Obviously after the **** fest today I will be very happy with one out of three but coming into this that was unacceptable.

Honestly, I couldn't care less if they lose 2-of-3 in every ****ing series against the Braves, as long as they have more total victories and fewer total losses than said Braves team on October 1. Although some people around here seem to forget, those games against the other teams count too.

I call those Ground Hog Day Double Plays...

I don't even want Alou back next season. Spare me.

I agree and disagree with your post Alou has for the most part been a rally killer since he returned while Lo Duca has sucked this year as he's been nearly the dp machine that Alou is. Wagner's been amazing while Glavine's been pretty shaky for the most part.

Point well taken, but it would be nice to see the Mets grab a few wins against the Braves. Who knows if this is going to be the NLCS match-up...

It's not the losing, it's the way they play and turn to diarrhea when facing the Braves.
