Default Who the F is Colin Cowherd anyways?

Other than a shitty radio host.

http://www.metsblog.com

Quote:
ESPN Radio’s Colin Cowherd recently ripped the Mets pre-game radio show, by mocking Meet the Mets, among other things, while adding…
“Give me a break. Step up Mets. This is the most bush-league stuff I have ever heard in my life. I mean, honestly, you turn on the Yankees and it’s regal – maybe it’s pompous, but it sounds New York…You turn on the Mets, it’s horrible – and as good as the Mets are, get rid of dorky Mr. Met, get rid of that stupid apple in center field after the home runs, your nine tacky uniforms…You sound bush league, and you’re not. You’ve got Disney Land players and you sound like the traveling carnival.”

The McGimpy does most things upside down: eats, sleeps (an average of 23 hours per day), mates, and gives birth. Because of the McGimpy's upside down life, many of the McGimpy's internal organs (liver, stomach, spleen, pancreas) are in different positions from other mammals. McGimpy sometimes lets out a cry or hissing sound.

During the rare times the McGimpy goes down to the ground (such as to change trees for food), it moves very slowly.

His ratings are probably low so to fire callers up, he rips on the Mets.

Same old story

isn't this old, old news? it was one of the sidelinks on the youtube page when he ripped suzyn waldman's clemens thing.

I can't argue with a lot of what he means by the general traveling carnival mentality the mets have - it's the direction the team has taken with marketing pretty much since the mid-90s.

but all the stuff this guy mentions - meet the mets, the HR apple, mr. met - predate dave howard or whoever coming up with the brilliant idea to distinguish the mets from the yankees by making a game at shea a minor league experience at major league prices. I like all three of those things, even though I dread whatever "reimagined" apple they're going to come up with in citifield.

getting rid of the ****ing pepsi party patrol (never gonna happen) and selling quality concessions (if they can do it in philly they can do it in NY) would go a long way towards making the mets experience less of a joke without taking away too much fun (I mean really, how much fun does the pepsi party patrol add to any given game at shea?).

I find it funny when its an ESPN guy saying this. Just about everything he said can be turn right around at the company he works for, only 10x worse.

why are his statements so offensive to you people? Do you really love Mr. Met?...do you not agree that the uniforms are hideous (other than the pinstripes).....come on, the guy was pretty much right on

I love Mr. Met and I like the different uniforms. The pinstripes are my least favorite of the bunch and I think its lame to keep using the same uniforms just b/c "thats the way its always been".

I hate the corporate feel of the Yanks and I hate everything about their YES and radio broadcasts. The only way I want the Mets to be more "Yankee-like" is by winning more WS, everything else, the less like the Yanks the better IMO.

Then Metsblog is really behind the times.

and looking at the article's comments, it looks like the show was a repeat or something along those lines.

I like the "Herd". I rather listen to him than Biningo. I'm tired of Joe going on and on about how the Jets and the Mets will never win. Shut the #$% up!
