| Senior Member | Milledge is CHRUSHING LH pitching to the tune of .379/.400/.655 in 30 AB's. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/player...?playerId=6477 Is it too early to get intrigued over what he can do in a full season?

Milledge gets on, you have the pitcher sacrifice him over, and then the top of the lineup can get him in. Why is this a problem? EDIT: Nevermind the fact that he's hit best in the #8 spot.

| I was amazed what he did last night. I still would love to know what havoc Reyes and Milledge could cause at the beginning of the lineup.

I want Milledge doing what he's been doing best---swinging away.

Now the argument can be made that he's having success where he is right now and its best to just leave him alone, as well as that Castillo's best spot is #2....but for the future, he has shown every thing you'd like to see from a #2 hitter. | |

As for the bottom of the order, it seems to help a lot of young players. Gotay, Gomez, Milledge, Wright (#7 for him early on), and Yankees rookies like Sorryano, Cabrera, and (not sure on this one) Cano. Maybe even Reyes (not sure on that one, either).

| He's not hitting fifth that soon I think at this stage he's an ideal #6 hitter think of how many more runs the Mets would have scored this year if they had him in the 6th spot over Lo Duca or Green. Last edited by graves9 : 08-06-2007 at 10:29 PM. |

Reyes Castillo Beltran (or Wright) Delgado Wright (or Beltran) Milledge Catcher Gomez As for the "wouldabeens", that's all speculation. We have no real way of knowing how Milledge might've responded to the pressure of being Wright's "protection". I'm inclined to agree with you, but it's just a guess.
