Default Anyone starting to get the feeling

that this is it? That this is the moment when the Mets just go all out and finally show us what we've been waiting for all year. They shove away the Braves and just go on a rampage from here on out, only to be rejoined by a returning Pedro.

Jersey is right. The 2007 Braves aren't going to be 'swept away'.

Totally agree, if we are going anywhere we have to take a series from the braves. That's the bottom line.

if the braves are going anywhere, THEY need to take series from US. we have the lead. even if they take 2 of 3 they only gain 1 game.

Agreed, but I'd be happy as long as we dont get swept. That's where the real damage is.

I don't think anyone will sweep, so at worst the Mets lose 1 game in the standings in my mind.

I have to admit that I did feel something after last night's game (other than being bloated from eating too much). The Mets could very well go on a tear at this point. They have enough new blood to shake things up and get the ball rolling. This is put up or shut up time, and I think the Mets are on the verge of putting out. I want to see them taking 2-3 from the Braves, and smack around Smoltz on Wednesday night.

The 2007 Mets have sure looked more like the 2006 Mets since the break. Energy, fight, confidence, aggresiveness, "fun." But like others have said, this Braves series is important, and I'd like to see how they fare under the first real "pressure" in the past few months. They need to kick some ass this weekend and establish that this division is theirs. They are capable.

I'd go as far as saying, (other than playoffs) this is the first real pressure this group has ever faced.

The Brewers didn't piss away an 8.5 game division lead by winning a lot since Late June. So to me, that wasn't impressive. Esp. as we didn't face Gallardo/Sheets IIRC

The Cubs series was a better test. Although they didn't throw Rich Hill, it was still good to see. But it's all moot until they beat the REAL team that matters. The ONLY team that matters; The Washington Nationals.
