Default Official get Teixiera thread

All right , he can play leftfield until Delgado either gets traded this offseason or leaves after 08, He may not be good in left but the guy is a beast, I don't even think we've seen the best of him yet, this guy can put up huge numbers. If the rumors are even close, Milledge and Pelfrey wouldn't entice Texas more than Saltamaccia?

This is a great opportunity to really stack the offense here and get a long term franchise player type guy back who we would resign.

What would it have to be to get it done?

You willing to trade Gomez, Milledge, Martinez, AND either Mulvey or Guerra (four of the five)? That's probably about what it would take to get Tex AND Gagne...

Rumor has the Braves giving up, Saltalamchiawaeysdsrta, Jo-Jo Reyes, and Elvis Andrus for him. The Mets can't top that based on Salty alone, but I don't think I'd want them to even try. Brave fans are already in "Salty is overrated and will be a bust," mode though. It's really quite funny...

I say sweeten the pot and let the Braves panic and piss away their farm for him.

But watch the Yankees get him for Melky, Clippard and Ian Kennedy.

I find it hard to believe that Texas isnt going for a starting pitcher here.

A good one? I'm sure he was bred to kill the Mets, but does that translate to him being anything special?

Would I be crazy if I said no to Tex?

Yes, completely and utterly

Seriously though, his numbers are sick and there is not much of a difference between home/road. He'd be a million times better than Delgado and younger too.
