| On BBTN Buster Olney made it sound like the Mets maybe working on a deal for Cordero. He said that something is "definitely brewing" between the Mets and the Nats, and that the Nats had two scouts at Binghamton the last few nights and offered up the names of Mulvey and Carp as possible prospects they would be interested in. He could be a very significant addition to the pen and someone we could groom to take over for Wagner when his contract is up. Then again maybe we are looking at someone else on the Nats.

| Yeah that is the only other person I could think of who they might be interested in on the Nats. Personally, I would rather stay put with Gotay/Easley and use whatever chips we have for somewhere else, unless you could get a good young 2b, like Brian Roberts (completely dreaming).

| Cordero for Mulvey and Carp? I think we have unanimous consent on that one.

| Probably, unless there is someone buried deeper, but that doesn't matter. As much as you like to develop your own players and such, a team with the financial means of the Mets can afford to go the FA/trade route for a power-hitting 1B. |

| I would imagine there would maybe be a ML level player also in the deal. Maybe something like Heilman and those two for Cordero. That said, I would still do that deal.

| Senior Member | I think a lot of folks are just jumping on the "Omar liked the guy when he was the GM in Mon" idea and the rumors of Cordero being on the blocks and making up their own stories off of it. See - the 3 years of Sammy Sosa rumors....hell even that one is back in full force. As much as I would like to see him here, I just dont see it happening and I don't see the Nats bothering to deal him unless its an absolute steal for them. |

| That would be an AWESOME deal for the Mets! It would solidify the pen.
