Default Mets "rumored" to be interested in Bay

I grabbed this from a Pirates message board, the quote is from Jason Bay.

Rumor Mill

The rumor mill is humming about Jason Bay. The latest rumor has the Red Sox being interested in Bay. When asked about it Bay said he hadn't heard about the Red Sox' interest, but that he had heard that the Mets were interested in him.

Albert Pujols said he was interested in playing for the Mets too.

so did Johan Santana and Chase Utley.

Would you rather trade for Bay or Nady?

It wasn't just SP---he was traded from the Expos to the Mets to the Pads to the Bucs. I'm pretty sure it was Omar who started the chain.

I don't know. I am a Reggie Sanders/Kenny Lofton man myself.

TOUGH call.

As if it wasn't bad enough that Hilton posted the initial rumor...to ask whether someone would rather have Bay or Nady? WTF? Is there even a debate?

I think Nady is a nice player and would gladly take him over Green. Their defensive handicaps are a wash and Nady can at least hit for average and some authority. He would be cheaper to acquire then Bay (one would think), leaving Omar with some flexibility should a top notch pitcher suddenly become available.

All that said, I would rather see Milledge continue to play, and hope for a Gomez, Milledge corner outfield in 2008.

After they traded the poor bastard from a WS contender to the Pirates last year, they owe Nady a trade back to the Mets. lol

So would I. Then why would you want Nady here? Unless there's another major setback, Alou will be back this weekend, and Endy in a month. Even if we traded Green, getting Nady would effectively bench Milledge.

No, thanks.

Besides, Dave hates ex-Mets and will kill anyone who wants them back

And that could NEVER happen, a set back with Alou. That is like saying Barry Bonds is going to break Hank Aaron's career homerun record.

You can't base a trade on the possibility of it happening. And, even if it did, I'd rather go with Milledge as an every day player. If Nady is a FA after the season, and we could trade Green for him, fine. But I doubt Green's going anywhere.
